Some of you people really aren't cut out for recruiting. Bru didn't choose us, that's disappointing it doesn't make him a drama queen or a liar. Chill the fuck out for once and move on.

It does make EJ a fraudulent liar.

My friend, Scott Schrader recorded this on Wednesday.

Bru committed to USC on his official visit, but he did love Texas.  Contrary to what that closing guy was saying, the players and recruits love Clay Helton....while some of your Texas players were not too complimentary about yours, just didn’t want to say that till confirmed by several sources.

Hook ‘Em!

So Clay is Charlie 2.0. Good luck with that.

It’s just EJ and others spinning shit. Cut out anything that is EJ’s opinions in any reports, and just read the straight facts.

There’s very little value in the facts because they are few and far between. The value isn’t in the accuracy of the content, it’s the in the volume of the content. The content is designed to create intrigue (ahem, manufacture drama), not to accurately chronicle anything.

It’s become a big business because we like the drama. It gives us something to distract us from our shitty job and nagging wife. Just say thanks and let’s keep eating the popcorn.

Our players really liked Charlie Strong too.  I am pretty sure there are also Bama players that don’t love Saban. It’s great to love your coach, but it’s not necessary for every player to feel that way.  Some players might need tough love and to stop being selfish.

Either way, Bru made his decision and good for him and USC.

No one said he was a drama queen.  Just that he did create drama about his decision which was false as by his own volition he was never coming here.

Some of you are being entirely too defensive regarding a recruit none of us have more than a very tangential connection to, which now that he won't be playing at The Univeristy, that connection is gone so who actually cares other than a philosophical debate about the nature of recruiting.

Again, he did exactly what he said he was going to do. Any noise surrounding that plan was manufactured by others on your behalf. Say thanks and move on to the next soap opera you want to watch.

HollywoodColt. We’re both part of the same hypocrisy ... but never think it applies to Surly.

Media/Graphics department did good.

Love it.  No orange sliced "let's go compete" BS.. All or nothing.

With the shift of power & "new challenge$" taking its toll on Texas, it's even more obvious Herman was a great hire.  Gives no fucks, fears nothing & will retaliate decisively if you fuck with him.

Next step is getting the better nasties in the trenches.

I'm honestly shocked at this meltdown. EVERYONE with any tiny lick of sense knew this would happen, he hardly made a big deal of it, and there's still a while mess here.

It’s stunning.

They should be embarrassed about listening to EJ, because that’s the only place where this bullshit has dragged on.

If you are one of the people surprised or melting over Bru, you need to stop reading 247. You also need to stop posting here.

Greg Biggins: Top 10 Performers from Under Armour All-American Game

The Under Armour All-American Game was a great opportunity to see some of the nation’s best go at it on the national stage. Following a week of practice as well as last night’s game, here’s our look at the 10 best overall performers of the week. First off, it’s a must to understand, this is a list of who we thought looked the best during the game and the week of practice, this is not a list of who we feel are the best prospects. This list is based solely on performance and has nothing to do with a players rating or how he projects in college.

In compiling this list, we valued a players overall body of work. So if a player had a great week of practice but maybe didn’t have a lot of opportunities in the game, he could still make the list. Also just because a player may have had a great game, if he didn’t perform well during the week of practice, he likely would not have made the cut here. So without further adieu, here’s our look at the top 10 performers from the event.

Alpha Dog- Humble (Texas) Atascocita offensive lineman Kenyon Green

Kenyon Green was tremendous all week and was dominant in the UA game. We really can’t say enough about him, he can run block and pass protect equally well, is a plus athlete, very strong, plays with a mean streak and always competes at a high level. He was very good at The Opening Finals over the summer and showed once again he can shine on a national stage. Texas A&M is getting a player we think could come in and compete for playing time early in his career.

2. WR, Theo Wease, Allen (Texas)

Theo Wease was the most consistent receiver all week and then had a very strong game. The only times we saw any defensive back able to cover him was when he was hobbled and limping around a bit. Otherwise, he was the best route runner in the camp and probably got more separation than any other receiver. The Oklahoma signee had one touchdown reception in the game and should have had another on a play the referees incorrectly rules him out of bounds. He should catch a ton of balls for the Sooners in the next few years.

3. OL, Evan Neal, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Evan Neal was beat for a sack in the game but was otherwise very good and had a great week of practice. He’s just so hard to get around because of of size and how well he can move. Neal worked out at both guard and tackle but we think he’s a natural tackle at the next level and could end up on either side depending on the need and where his body is at in a few years. As good as he is now, he can still lean out some and improve his overall athleticism, which would make the Alabama signee even scarier.

4. DL, Kayvon Thibodeux, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian

Kayvon Thibodeaux was our top player the first workout of the week. He was just solid the next two days and actually struggled a bit on the final day of practice but was very good in the game and flashed his enormous talent. His seven tackles were 3rd most in the game and he had multiple hurries as well. When his motor is going, there aren't many players who can impact a game quite like Thibodeuax and the Oregon signee should compete for the starting job the second he arrives on campus.

5. WR, George Pickens, Hoover (Ala.)

We talked to a few of the defensive backs following the game and several said George Pickens was the toughest cover for them during the week. He had four catches for 55 yards in the game, which followed up a very good week of practice as well. He’s a big, physical receiver with a strong body and uses his size and strength to create separation. He’s not a burner but runs well enough and can make plays down the field. Pickens is an Auburn commit but will sign in February.

6. QB, Jayden Daniels, San Bernardino (Calif.)

Jayden Daniels was our No. 2 quarterback all week during practice and looked very good and really shined during the game. He was clearly the top signal caller Thursday night and showed off why he’s the nation’s top dual-threat quarterback. He finished 9-13 for 101 yards and two touchdowns and added 21 yards on the ground. Daniels can stress a defense in so many ways, never looks rattled and has the touch and accuracy to make every throw on the field. He’ll enroll at Arizona State on Monday.

7. RB, Jerrion Ealy, Flowood (Miss.) Jackson Prep

We said during the week it was tough for the running backs to really show what they could do in this setting. During practice, the running backs and linebackers rarely went live and were only in full pads once. Still Jerrion Ealy flashed a few times and then had a great showing Thursday night. He had a game high 119 yards, which was a new record and scored two touchdowns as well. We really like the way the Ole Miss signee runs the football. He’s decisive, quick and strong and is a great looking prospect.

8. DB, Kenyatta Watson, Loganville (Ga.) Grayson

Kenyatta Watson was outstanding all week and definitely looks like one of the more under-rated defensive backs in the country. When you look at his length, athleticism, toughness, motor and skill set, he checks off every box you could want in a next level corner. He had arguably the best performance by any defensive back this week during Tuesday’s workout and just oozes upside and potential. Watson is headed to Texas and should bolster an already strong secondary.

9. DL, Zacch Pickens, Anderson (S.C.) TL Hanna

Zacch Pickens got progressively better all week and was one of the most dominant defensive players at the event by the end of the week. We love his positional versatility and feel he can play multiple spots on the defensive line. He's a big, strong kid who can beat an opposing lineman with power or quickness. He was very tough to contain in the game Thursday night and finished up with three tackles, a sack and a hurry. He was a huge pickup for South Carolina and he should definitely be able to compete for playing time as soon as this coming fall.

10. WR, Marcus Washington, St. Louis (Mo.) Trinity Catholic

Marcus Washington was one of the MVPs of the game Thursday night after catching seven passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Washington had a good week of practice as well showing some of the strongest hands in the event. At 6-2, 195 pounds, Washington is a physical receiver who can bully smaller corners. He has excellent body control, catches the ball well through contact and has a natural feel for how to get open and get separation. The Texas signee should make a lot of plays for the Longhorn program in the coming years.

Honorable Mention: Others who just missed the cut

*Jameson Williams, WR, Saint Louis (Mo.) Cardinal Ritter Prep- Williams has elite level speed and is a true home run threat from anywhere on the field.

*Devontae Dobbs, OL, Belleville (Mich.)- Versatile lineman who can overwhelm opposing DLs at the point of attack.

*Mykael Wright, DB, Antelope Valley (Calif.)- Has all the tools to be a true shutdown corner at the next level.

*Lewis Cine, DB, Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian- Rangy safety who is strong in coverage and always around the ball.

*Jordan Battle, DB, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas- Versatile safety who can run, hit and cover.

* Julian Barnett, DB, Belleville (Mich.)- Barnett was one of the top 3-4 defensive backs every day in practice and showed lockdown cover skills.

*Bo Nix, QB, Pinson Valley (Ala.)- Top quarterback in practice each day, poised, polished and mature beyond his years.

*Zeke Correll, OL, Cincinnati (Ohio) Anderson- Versatile interior lineman who could excel at guard or center.

*Jowon Briggs, DL, Cincinnati (Ohio) Walnut Hills- Physical tackle with a great first step.

It’s closetojumping, and I’ve been more dead on about your program over the last 12 months than you could hope to be. Enjoy your fantasies with loveable Coach Helton being carried off the field next year after pulling out a 6th win to become bowl eligible. I’ll stick with the premise that he’s clueless, he’s not an exciting guy for recruits to get behind, and you’ll be waxing Pollyanna to us about the new guy, same as the old guy by this time next year.

Our players may not like our coach, but at least they win games for him.

Same shit as with CS. Players loved him because he was more like a friend/father than a D1 coach who held them accountable. 100% understandable, and there’s always going to be coaches and programs like that.

Not at all surprised to hear we have guys who hate Herman, but I doubt any of our starters/soon-to-be-starters share those thoughts because they’ve worked their asses off for their spot. Very likely there’s still a lot of underserved entitlement on the depth chart, and that takes years to overcome for a rising team. Lot of really good players joined when we were struggling, but now they’re unexpectedly (at least in their minds) at risk of getting recruited over. Shit happens, and maybe those feelings had an impact on Bru. Still think it’s an amazing class that filled most of our biggest needs.

I don't remember, but didn't he commit to Tennessee out of nowhere?

He visited Tennessee, said he was going to visit a couple other SEC schools and Texas, then committed to Tennessee and we never heard from him again until now.

I’ve already given you guys enough information to work with, but do what works for you.

EJs not throwing in the towel , apparently Kliff is expected to resign from USC soon after his NFL interviews were blocked by the AD.

Maybe I missed it, but I assumed he already signed his NLI. Is that not the case? And even if not, doesn’t class start on Monday for SC? So even if he hasn’t signed, its over once he shows up for class in a couple days?

Psh if you're not geeking over grad transfers and NSD2 "hidden gems" you're like a fan of a band that never listens to the B-sides. That's the good shit, man.

Haha. I was over there, but I really don't know any of the players. I just assume Tom will get some more bad ass transfers

What do you guys think of this LB out of Virginia? Late riser. He’s disruptive and physical. Hard to gauge his speed but he looks really fast.

Yeah, that kid is way underrated. Nice find. Are we talking to him? He’s a hell raiser.
