I have always heard that furniture has the highest mark up of all retail products.  So not wanting to get completely screwed here, does anyone have a good approach or company to buy well build furniture at a fair price?

I’m sitting on a couch at living spaces right now. They have a large child center where you can leave your kids whilst you shop. No idea on quality or price, but I’m assuming it’s equivalent to the ikea.

Pro tip I offer to you is arrive a little drunk and or high.

Clearance. Just stop by different places occasionally and look for furniture that is clearanced so they can make more space on their showroom floor. Make sure it is in decent condition because the floor model is the one that is for sale. Just be patient and don't get in any kind of hurry.

Is there a certain time of year where stuff is more likely to be legit on sale?

Any holiday. Memorial Day, 4th Of July, and Labor Day are the big 3 and best time to start shopping

But you can always shop around President’s Day, Tax Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.
