I find his response to be very strange. I was just trying to be helpful, and then he just completely ignores reality and doubles down without even thinking about it, looking into it, nothing. Just a complete lug head. Weird.

I’m not wrong. I’m 100% right. Most Horns fans agree with me. Every other non-Horn CFB fan agrees with me. Every college pundit agrees with me. Why dont you tell me exactly how it wasn’t targeting?  Here’s Klatt on it:

I can't imagine what waking up at 4am every day to get in to station must do to their bodies. Change sucks but if it keeps them around for a little bit longer then I'd rather have 3 hours versus no hours of them.

While I always want more Musers, if it keeps them going as a show for more years, I am all for it...though it will suck if we get less fun segments at the expense of yet another Cowboys segment on a Tuesday or Wednesday (following, of course, Cowboys-Over Saturation Mondays)

Well, maybe we're done with Jub Red Dirt segments now.....at least in the Corner since there appears to be no more Corner.

Well, this sucks. I barely listened to The Ticket while the Musers were out. It appears my time as a P1 is coming closer and closer to the precipice. (There’s no way that’s a word.)

if a show ever needed a capable yuk monkey, this is the one.

unfortunately, there isn't anybody worth a damn in the stable to do it, and even if there was, Cumulus isn't going to pay anything for it.

This might be tough for you, but I’m going to ask you to use your reading and reasoning skills and not just an “appeal to authority”.

  Quote

ARTICLE 4. No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6).

Note 1: “Targeting” means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball. Some indicators of targeting include but are not limited to:

Launch. A player leaving their feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area.

A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground.

Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area.

Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet.

I will grant you that the receiver was a defenseless player. I will grant you that the fronts of both players’ helmets contacted. It was incidental contact, not “forcible contact”.

None of the facets in the quoted note are applicable.

That is why the officials didn’t call it on the field. That is why the review booth declined to call it.

It was total targeting. He was defenseless and there absolutely was forcible contact. Where is Note 2 by the way?  Look, I don’t want to argue this anymore. I’m sick of people on this board stretching the limits of the reasonable to justify why my boy (and I mean my absolute boy) didn’t target. But by the letter of the rule, he did. This board has gone full retard.

I find it interesting that the bragging montage king keeps running his mouth about having me on ignore, yet cannot help himself from speaking about me. What a clown.

Yes, he was defenseless. That doesn’t mean he can’t be tackled or blocked. He can. He can’t be “targeted”, which has a definition.

Their helmets contacted. It was not a forcible hit to his head. It was a forcible hit to his body, instead, which is legal. If any helmet contact was targeting, there would be a couple dozen per game.

Forcible to head. Very clearly. Why did you not include Note 2?

I didn’t include Note 2, because Note 2 defines a defenseless player- who is and isn’t one- and I freely admit that theASU WR was defenseless while catching the ball.

It was not forcible to the head, no matter how much you want it to be. The officials on the field did not believe it to be forcible to the head. The officials in the review booth did not believe it to be so.

You want, for some reason, to believe that Texas was allowed to break a rule, unpunished, even after review. How in the hell do you think that works? Why?

You haven’t posted the entire rule. You have provided zero evidence this wasn’t a targeting.  Had that play occurred at any point with more than 5 minutes left to play, it would have.

More importantly, I am ecstatic Texas wasn’t penalized. We totally lucked out. The call wasn’t made because of the time in the game.

Listening to Gordo, jub and jr this morning they sounded tired of getting up early to deliver 4.5 hours.or content 5 days a week.  For 30 years. Shit carson cut back to an hour three nights a week and nbc paid him the same.
Sounded to me that they were contemplating retiring and cumulus came to them with options.  They said they will stay as a unit and leave as a unit.

They likely took no pay cut.  Donnie and Matt got fucked more likely and get another hour for same pay.

They didn’t take a pay cut at all. If cumulus were to be so bold as to propose that, they’d be gonzo, and unlike with the other bozos, we all would’ve followed. Cumulus knows that. They won’t fuck with morning or afternoon drive time monsters.

I like Junes. Super nice guy IRL. But I love all these HSO's about how this expanded system sucks based off the first year it's been used -- and it's not even over yet.

At an absolute minimum is that it will shut up the teams like SMU or Boise or Indiana about not getting their shot. Well, they got it -- albeit they had to go on the road -- and they all lost. The Final Four is about as "helmet school" as it can possibly get with four absolute titans of the game facing off. Notre Dame has 11 national titles, Ohio State has eight and Texas and Penn St have four apiece.

Penn State has two MNCs (1982 and 1986). Penn State has never had a season of note without Jerry Sandusky grinning in the team photo.

Monty's Christmas present to Junior was pretty appropriate: an opinion about the NBA that wasn't dated from the 1980s. I like Junior more than most on here but he really is good ole days way too much about modern day sports. He's also a sports elitist so I'd imagine OU sucking this year definitely soured him on CFB. He talked about his friends saying they watched less CFB this year. These must be OU people because interest in CFB was pretty high this year according to TV ratings.

He’s not wrong, and people bitching about it being too expanded with the seeding fucked up definitely aren’t wrong. Just wish we can generally be patient and wait and see how it all plays out before attacking.

He is wrong, his total viewpoint was wrong saying there wasn't as much interest in the playoff, especially the first round.  He insinuated several times home stadiums were not full and not into the games with a lame atmosphere.  Which one?  Every home area was hyped up.  That view is patently false.

His perception, and I've heard it from others around Dallas, comes from his team not being in it and SMU taking a shit on themselves in front of a national audience.

And he's also wrong on bowl season being less popular now. TV ratings and attendance were up for a large number of bowls. Sure, there are too many bowls but people still watch them.
