don’t forget that fewer people are  listening to terrestrial radio these days, and ticket listeners have become a bigger piece of the pie that still do.  so according to “share” the numbers are amazing and they obviously are doing very well but I highly doubt they have more total listeners than they did a decade ago.  so the dominance isn’t growing, people are just turning to sources of media other than FM radio.

You sure about that?  With streaming?  I’ve gotten some young bucks in my office obsessed with the ticket and all they do is stream. I agree with your general premise but Ticket listenership is pretty unique. I know they’re a bigger piece of a shrinking pie, but I’d be surprised if their numbers were not still increasing.

I’m not sure I’ve heard of anyone still listening to the radio outside of the ticket.  most people are listening to spotify and podcasts now.

Hard to pull away from the ticket and the listenership is getting younger. And, Drew’s getting laaaaarrrrrrrger.

Dear lord, does it get any less entertaining than sweet spot at spring training. And cringe factor of them chatting up a players gf.

Lmao. Their cume is probably around 60% of what it was ten years ago. Better than most though.

Oh and streaming numbers are self-reported.

Yeah but you’re filled with fake ratings. And Luka’s averaging 22 a night (and 27% from 3).  Cockdaddy fake ratings bullshit artist.

have not listened to one second of the ticket this week and i’m not on vacation. just don’t care about anything other than the musers these days. i’ll usually listen to 3-4 hardline segments a week on the sportsday app.

I have barely listened, but it's not due to the people talking. It's the subject matter. I don't give a shit about the Cowboys or Mavs. Neither one deserves a second of my time. Any time Jerry speaks it's an instant punch out. The Mavs are circling the drain. That's why I stopped listening to the Dumb Zone and why I don't listen to anything pertaining to either of them unless it's to kick them. There's no reason to listen to the bullshit excuses. The Cowboys are irrelevant to my sports viewing. I watched more of them on the Red Zone last year than I did the actual broadcast because they are/were irrelevant and boring. Until they show something resembling a clue I have no reason to spend any time or money on them. The Mavs are headed straight back to the ignominy of 13 wins.

Yet, that's the two subjects that the the consultants demand we must hear. Fuck'em. I don't have to listen to the bullshit.

the fucking musers are taking 2 weeks for spring break???

Between the vacations and the three hour shifts that include repeats from the previous day, I think I finally might cut loose from the Ticket. Hell, even the 5-5:30 am time slot, which used to have Top 10, now has bs Fox sports. I’m done.

Fox Sports Radio sucks. I hate Ben Maller with the heat of a thousand suns. It's 92.5 for me.

This. Similar situation with 90.1 KERA which had its first 12+ #1 book recently and is now consistently among the top stations in the market. The station is doing well and is to be commended, but their live news and discussion format is more of a draw than stale commercial music formats that are far less enticing than Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

I didn’t know this was common knowledge. I just assumed he was parodying the average Dallas $50,000 millionaire.

I did too

D1, P1, and I don't think it dawned on me that it's really a mixture of both until several years ago

I don't really do podcasts. I do The Ticket, 91.7 and 88.1 on terrestrial radio. I've got several XM stations that I tune into (mostly XMU and First Wave) and then I've got Spotify.

If I’m a lot lizard does that make it a workplace accident? I learned in Fight Club that life insurance pays off triple if you die on a business trip.
