And he's also wrong on bowl season being less popular now. TV ratings and attendance were up for a large number of bowls. Sure, there are too many bowls but people still watch them.

Ratings might be the same but the games mean next-to-nothing. Players have opted out or entered the portal. This is a huge reason why the CFP could expand to even 16 and I'd be happy as that increases the number of games where teams are actually playing for something. Seems like there were tons of games with the entire upper deck of large NFL stadiums that were completely empty. They're nice background noise to have on TV during the holiday season. Hell, I'm almost to the point that we should maybe exclude bowl results in a team's record if they're not playing in the playoff -- unless it's aggy and they lose, of course. They're glorified early spring games at this point.

People get hung up on the opt-outs, but there have been good bowl games all over the place.  I still really like bowl season.

That last sentence of yours.  I wonder people who say that, how much football and how much of the bowl games you watch?  Very competitive across the board.  Teams are into it, coaches are into it.  Traveling fans are into it.

If anything what the expanded playoff and the portal have done is revitalize fan bases after the regular season.

Fan bases, and they're not wrong, are sold on with good bowl showings and that momentum, we are right in the mix to get in the 12 next year.

He is wrong, his total viewpoint was wrong saying there wasn't as much interest in the playoff, especially the first round.  He insinuated several times home stadiums were not full and not into the games with a lame atmosphere.  Which one?  Every home area was hyped up.  That view is patently false.

His perception, and I've heard it from others around Dallas, comes from his team not being in it and SMU taking a shit on themselves in front of a national audience.

I share a lot of his sentiments. tOSU was woefully underbought and filled in with Tenn fans. He’s 100% correct with the seeding aspect. I think in most years, he’ll be wrong with home games, and think we’re going to see that aspect expand to a few rounds with no byes.

Non-CFP bowls are particularly worthless. Shoehorning in major bowls to CFP is dumb.

Pillow fights can be competitive. Nobody cares about non-CFP bowl games. It’s a significantly less appealing product than the NIT.

I get it. Out of 40-something games, some will be fun watches. the SCar-Illinois game got nasty and it was enjoyable. But Cam Ward "peaced out" at halftime of a game after setting a record. North Texas started a kid at QB who hadn't started a football game since like 9th grade. These games aren't to be taken seriously. Many teams have substantial numbers of key players from the season who do not play because they're transferring or heading to the NFL. I'm not complaining -- I still watch them. What else am I going to do during the holiday season? Hang out with my family? Pretend to work?

Couldn't be more wrong, may be harsh.  There are always grays.  Many people are in their glory days syndrome.  In my line of life, I see it all the time.

Okay. My bad. There is great interest in non CFP bowl games. I don’t know anyone who’s watched one, because nobody gives a fuck, but I couldn’t be more wrong. lol.

The last 2 pages have more college football talk than the last 3 months on The Ticket airwaves

Texas, SMU, new exciting product, Cowboys suck. Logical. Edit: I misread; there’s been a ton of CFB talk on the Ticket. More than I can ever remember.

I didn't quote you because I didn't want to engage with you, but since you constantly want to be mister dickshit, you don't know anyone into it because the people you know aren't really into football or sports.  And that's fine.  You are on the suburban periphery of any knowledge.  You will always have your, take everything at a glance blowhard opinion.  Having any conversation with you is useless.

I’m consumed with football. My son will play D-1. My spare time is spent with coaches. I merely said some of what Junior said, in my opinion, rings true. And you didn’t like that my opinion differed from yours in your little anti-Junior rant. It’s an opinion. I don’t give a fuck about Texas St and N Texas. If you watched and contributed to whatever ratings your buddy is quoting, great. I don’t care, and neither does anyone I know.  Fuck off Sausage King of Chicago.
