ESPN rising star Adnan Virk has been fired by the network, sources told The Post.

Virk is accused of leaking confidential company information to the media on multiple occasions, according to sources.

When ESPN investigated the allegations, it felt that Virk failed to fully cooperate.

He recently signed a new multi-year contract.

“Adnan Virk no longer works at ESPN,” ESPN vice president Josh Krulewitz told The Post.

Virk could not immediately be reached for comment. CAA, Virk’s agency, declined comment.

On Friday, Virk was escorted off the Bristol campus. The specific nature of the information Virk chose to share is unknown at this time.

Reportedly leaked to Awful Announcing that ESPN wasn't bringing Baseball Tonight back. He was on a conference call about it then talked to one of the ESPN VP's and asked specific questions about ESPN's baseball coverage moving forward that ended up in the Awful Announcing article.

Is there ANY chance Marty Smith is wrapped up in this?

A few years ago, when ESPN was cutting one trick ponies like Ed Werder for only covering one sport, NASCAR one trick pony Marty Smith raised his hand and said, “I’ll cover anything!” and then actually saw his star rise exponentially. A smart move, but that doesn’t mean I can’t despise his shtick and voice and delivery with the heat of a thousand suns.

Virk is good, you just need to be careful with that shit. He’s apparently suing, but disclosing company secrets being a fireable offense  is apparently prominently mentioned during your onboarding and in the company handbook.

(He reportedly joined the conference call late, so he didn’t know certain specifics he learned in his follow-up one on one conversation were not mentioned in the wider call. That’s how they knew it had to be him.)
