Buechele would make a lot of sense there.

Same offense from his FR year at Texas. He would probably be the starter. Only thing is FSU's OL is shit so he would probably get killed.

There are some 4300 high schools in the state of Florida. For a school like FSU to not have a couple of QB ‘s on scholarship is bizarre. I fully understand if they are not Championship caliber, but at a minimum have a back up that knows how to play the game.

He would turn to mush. Better to just take the SMU spot.

Yeah, but SMU's OL isn't much better. Go and look at their offensive line stats at football outsiders. They're one of the bottom tier OLs in the country.

He's likely going to get killed at SMU. That's probably a big reason Hicks transferred.

Counterpoint: Texas circa 2010-2016

SMU is also SMU and not in Tallahassee. Did you consider that?

I understand what you mean, but we at least actually had one on scholarship. Taggert literally does not have one.

Tossing the Frenchman was it. Unless what is being reported is incorrect?

I thought he was a good hire. Now, not so much.

I mean he did just recruit the #1 player, so he must be doing something right. Last year was underwhelming.

In this age of college football, it’s actually not the dumbest thing. Just pick a new grad transfer every 1-2 years and profit.

That’s the Lincoln Riley way

Riley is lucky that his grad transfer QB is able to go thru both Winter workouts & Spring football.

Like Baker Mayfield

And Kyler Murray

and Jalen Hurts

Riley is not lucky. He’s smart enough to recruit a better QB if the one on his roster sucks

Wasn't he used to that type of O-line here?

He has about 1/3 the time to prepare Hurts that he had with Mayfield.  Less than 1/4 of what he had with Murray.

So... same offense from his freshman year. Got it.

Never understood the Taggart hype but idk. Isn’t he like 50-55 as a head coach but the media talked about him like he’s the 2nd coming.

Did well at USF and hired a competent staff at Oregon. Then he moved to FSU, hired a worse staff, and is now being exposed as a fraud thus far. He wasn't a particularly great in-game coach at Oregon, either.

He was basically sold as "Charlie Strong, but smart!"

Now it's "Charlie Strong but skinnier. Still bad at running a major program, though."

I didn’t realize we were at a klan rally.

where I have seen big splash hires become colossal failures before?  seems familiar

When the “splash” is for alums and donors rather than recruits, it’s more often than not a “splat” hire.

Bro they had bigger and more elite pocket presence QBs getting wrecked back there. I wouldn't want to watch Shane go through that. Florida State is a shit hole too.

Casey Thompson is the 2nd string QB for a top 10 team behind a guy who has no concept of self protection. I don't think there's anything Willie Taggart could sell him above board that would make FSU more attractive.

My point was that, while Tallahassee isn't a garden spot, Gainesville is worse.

Guys, we don't need to discriminate here.

They both fucking suck (just assuming - never been to either and don't plan on it).

Did a lot of frequent visits to both during flight training. Gainesville looked like a decent place for an 18-22 year old. Tally looked like a spread out dump.

Hurts never looked all that great behind one if the best OLs in the country and with the best defense in the country backing him up. Not sure what he'll do at ou but he has major bust potential there I would think.
