Is TexAgs associated with a national site and was it ever? Was IT partnered with one prior to On3?

Texags has always been it's own thing and never associated with any naional site.

InsideTexas I believe is/was the same, but I'm not positive. If they were associated with someone like Scout, it was briefly.

Does this mean Spider2YBanana posts on OB now???

No, idoit. My wife cheated on me in June and we're divorced, so that's just an idiot who clearly either a) is in denial, or b) he's in denial, obviously.

I also absolutely will not shell out money to these "recruiting" sites that are hit or miss, and mostly miss. My money goes right to the player(s), son.

TexAgs briefly had some kind of partnership with The Athletic awhile back

The Athletic carried some local independent sites articles for a bit. TexAgs and I think the big Notre Dame one too? It's been over for years though

I give Gerry credit for being bold enough to rightfully point out Ewers has been a disappointment this season. Whether by injury, regression, or most likely a mixture of both. He's been carried to 11 wins by the best defense in the country bailing him out in the 2nd half against Arkansas, against OU, 2nd half against Kentucky, and 2nd half against aggy. Michigan and CSU are the only productively complete games Ewers has played all year. That's a disgrace as a 3rd year starter.

The hope for a title is that he gets his shit together for the playoffs, but that's a long shot. The realistic hope is he both produces and stops fucking up just enough for an elite defense to carry us to a title.

The defense tried. Held OSU to 21 pts.

In the end the offensive weaknesses got us beaten. Something anyone who pays attention without the homer glasses could see coming. Still the best Texas defense ever. Holding the OSU offense that was on this kind of a roll to 21 was a master class performance. Especially holding them to 14 after the first drive of the game. Elite stuff

Holding both Jeremiah Smith AND Emeka Egbuka to 3 yards for Smith, and 51 for Egbuka. That's how you defense.

The names he drops in his farewell post could be some foreshadowing as to where he might end up.

It was a bit of bummer when he made the switch years ago from recruiting to doing more team beat coverage. I always thought the recruiting stuff he brought to the table was great.

Didn't he have a health issue that prevents him from traveling around much?

Well the r/LonghornNation admin definitely never played sports

I somewhat agree. Most of the time, cordial should be the approach.

However, sometimes, a motherfucker needs a beating and you need to fight your way through the fodder to get to him. I never felt that way in football, but a GBall guy, like 6’6”, 230 on their court, straight up punched me in the face during a free throw shot. I went after him in the handshake line and while he laughed as people were pulling me back, he also seemed fine that people were physically restraining me:

Vernon Crawford at Texas City did the same in hoops after two years in football telling me he was going to fuck my mother while I caught passes on his ass.

And then I tried to pull a pitcher out of his girlfriend’s house after he was protected by his Dobie teammates to get him to the parking lot after he threw at me on 4 straight pitches. He later played for years in MLB too, so his arm was a lethal weapon. I saw him at a wedding that I was paying for a few years ago and he tried to apologize to me. What a complete pussy. It’s been 30 years, pussy. Enjoy your pension.

So now that I think about it, I don’t know how much I disagree. That said, I don’t if I am a standard example of the norm.

Here’s an update from Bobby about OTF’s future. He’s foreshadowing some next steps and additions to the staff that regulars on this forum will like.

Spoiler

Earlier this week, we quietly passed a landmark here at OTF.

On Jan. 20, it became one year since the start of this website.

From the beginning, I’ve wanted to build a community of Texas fans who truly love to watch and follow the Longhorns, who would feel free to voice their opinion while being reasonably courteous and professional to one another. I hate message boards that devolve into name-calling or sanctimony.

Of course, I’ve also wanted to bring solid reporting and news gathering to the mix.

CJ Vogel has been terrific. Gerry Hamilton is unmatched. Blake Munroe knows more about baseball than anyone.

But going into year two, I know we need to get better, to offer even more as a website. And that’s exactly what we’ll be doing.

Thank you all for a great first year here at On Texas Football. Here’s to many more!!!

Then why does Bobby have a partnership with the assholes here?

I can't think of who else they would add that would make any sense. Gerry and CJ are already overkill and basically just repeat each other about recruiting 30 times a week. Then Rod and Erin Hogan do the same in the evening. I've gotten to where I'll watch a coffee and football on Tuesday and on Friday. No need to watch anything else there.

How long before IT’s partnership is up and OTF joins the On3 family?

likely not gonna happen. Bobby is having entirely too much fun with 100% creative and content control. It's the main point of friction he's always had with everywhere.

It's also why OTF is so badass, it's actually just a bunch of dudes who love Texas.
