Yep.  That's what they are all called now.

I know a guy who bought a garden variety adult hooker from one of those back page ads.  Was part of a sting where others were arrested also.  The papers reported it as him being involved in a child sex trafficking ring.  Which is not in the same ball park of what he actually did.  Lost his law firm and a lot more. No retraction or clarification ever printed.

Was that the guy that was an owner of J. Black's?  I recall that while he wasn't innocent, he didn't appear to be in the same league as others in that sting.  It's not an easy defense to spouses, friends and work associates that you're only partially guilty of lesser crime. If a business partner of  mine was arrested that brought bad press on the partnership, I would be furious at him.

I have a friend that is into some slightly shady activities, with people who are definitely into much more shady activities.  I've warned him to be careful and he just says that he knows to stay away.  Seems like a fine line, and you can easily be pulled into a legal case even from the periphery.

I’d argue that sex trafficking would go down if sex work was brought out of the shadows, regulated, health codes enforced, etc. but probably a convo better suited for the CR...

Since the arrangements are often virtual slavery, nothing will change unless you're willing to legalize that too.  In that case, things will change but not for the better.

Sounds like they arent exactly exclusive. I'm sure they both get something out of the arrangement.

Does the blank bullet list item mean that the missing service was removed...or implied?

or a ranking order

showing distance

It would be funny if the parlor did their ranking of services list Deadspin style:

1) Masasge Therapy

2) Table Shower

3) Facial Treatment

4) Getting hit by a car

5) Waxing

I find it somewhat amusing that every single hooker/john arrest is now a "HUMAN TRAFFICKING!!111!!" case.  GMAFB.

If it is, go nab the traffickers instead of the trafficked and their customers.

Most of them are human trafficking cases. And I suspect they go after the Johns because it's easier.

During the Super Bowl, there was attention about how traffic trafficking greatly increases in the host city.  Other human trafficking experts said they thought it was not at all the case as most the sex trade was not involving the trafficking aspect.  The point was made that some experts don't differentiate between the two.

I think the point of going after the customers is that if you eliminate the demand, the supply will go away.

Well, it's not "legalizing human trafficking," it is liberalizing immigration law. And while I know there are some folks who disagree, the historical record has proven that doing so is almost always a net win. In fact, a recession has followed every major immigration law restriction:

1882: All Chinese immigrants barred; Recession followed, 1882-85.

1917: Rest of Asia, illiterate immigrants, most Africans barred; recession followed 1918-1919.

1921 & 1924: First hard restrictions on European Immigrants. Depression in 1921, Recession in 1924.

And then...

1965: Restrictions on Asian, European and African immigrants removed, no recession for 4 years straight, government budget surplus in 1969.

There's also been plenty of studies showing that immigrants tend to work harder/produce more GDP per capita than native-borns, and demand fewer government services. Which goes along with all the above.

I think it's safe to assume that every resident of that town has received a ol' fashioned from one of those ladies at some point, including the Bush corpses. I think its municipal law in Jupiter, Florida.

That's a completely skewed presentation and ignores highly relevant current conditions.  The US takes in over 1 million people per year and yet we have a huge problem with human trafficking today.  Many of the women are essentially slaves in their home countries and are brought here and hidden inside immigrant communities that provide cover for similar conditions in the US.
