How Fox News works

retread

Yeah, and you've still not yet to expedite the lunch plates or deliver us our cheddar biscuits.  Been kind of a long time, ya jackass!

Not my problem, Fuckstick von Clowndick, I’m from the hush puppies era, remember?
Now…did I have a solid technique for turning in a few extra untraceable appetizer chits during particularly busy times so that at the end of shift, whoops, there would be some calamari and cheese sticks that died in the window, I guess the wait staff can eat them? You bet your ass I did. I ain’t paying for food when I can game the system for freebies.

I'm sorry, Mr. Fuckstick von Clowndick was my father's name.  Just call me Clowndick.

There was a Red Lobster, may still be there.  On Blanco Road IIRC in San Antonio when my mother lived there.  And my sister used to rock some hush puppies and we'd do the shrimp platters.  But a few weeks ago, I was picking up my truck from the mechanic right off Ben White and Menchaca.  And thought, 'Man, I could knock out a little basket of hush puppies from that Long John Silver' which I hadn't ever thought sober in 1000 years.  So I pick up the truck and drive by and it's completely demolished and they're putting in some generic coffee chain from the East Coast, literally caddie-corner from Radio Coffee, arguably Austin's most predominant independent coffee shop.  And I thought "That don't make no sense!"  And then I got home and turned on FoxNews and realized that nothing makes any sense anymore.

And I go to sleep wondering, "Am I actually living a simulation?  And does FoxNews explicitly target me because they know I know?  Or are they an extension of our delusion.  Does FoxNews just continue with this because it's part of the computer program or they actually some sort of alert mechanism that's actually here to jolt us back to lucidity?  Is it all so sublimely ridiculous that it's ostensibly sent here to snap us out of the zombie state.  Or is it legitimate Orwellian bullshit meant to actually control the stupids, which is seems to be doing pretty well.  Or are we the stupids for not savoring their broadcast crumbs?  Is thinking any of this could be fake an insult to people around the world enduring real physical pain, hunger, and suffering?  Hallelujah, holy shit, where them biscuits at?

Why are these women folk so angry with the world the men have so blessedly built for them?

Blessed be the fruit.

If they would just get in the kitchen, do what I say, and spat out a few kids like they are supposed to, they'd be a lot happier. - Harrison Butker, probably.

Fox has to control the narrative for the base…..rule of law and facts can’t seem to find the camera….truth has no agenda.

Plenty are probably peaking at CNN though, because they know he was convicted and if Fox News is doing the head-in-the-sand thing, they are going to be too curious not to look at other stations.

What in the fuck?  I mean, his messaging was racist and incorrect...but he was so damn excited to say it and his enthusiasm was palpable through the screen.  That was weird as hell.

"Inner city blacks love sneakers, so they love Trump.  But they're also part of BLM and will probably loot the shoe store.  And they shoot up rival gang members and heroin.  But they're gonna turn out the vote for Trump who loves his African Americans over here."

The term "Mental Gymnastics" no longer applies.  They're going through some kinda other weird machination.  And it's mental, but in the 'crazy' sense the Brits would use.  By the way, Black Brits want to know if the sneakers come in UK sizes, or just standard 5-13?

This fucking simulation just can't quit the lunacy.

A lot of MAGA seems to be coming around to him losing again, but are still in denial.  I’ve seen some MAGA relatives on Facebook almost in hysterics this weekend over the conviction. NY Times pitchbot on acid.

"Pitchbot on Acid" would make a good alternative term for "Mental Gymnastics", but an even better name for my new right-wing country.ska band.  We're huge on Staten Island.

"He did nothing wrong."

They keep saying this. He cooked the books to hide evidence that he paid hush money to a porn star after fucking her, right after his wife gave birth to their son. In order to become President. He did so many things wrong.

I assume Cotton also thinks that Eileen Cannon should recuse herself, considering that Trump gave her her current job. But, again, you run into this stuff when you elect a criminal President.

I don't get it.

We DO have rules in this country about false advertisement. You can't call your product "bourbon" if it doesn't have a certain percentage of corn. You can't call something "chocolate" if it isn't made with actual chocolate. And you can't call it "cheese" if it's been processed to hell and back.

Why the heck do we allow whatever it is Fox sells to be called "news?"

I have been arguing this for years.  I get free speech but it's fucking criminal what they have done to this country and the news business in general.  If Walter Cronkite was alive to today, he would punch all of these "news people" in the fucking mouth for embarrassing what a news reporter and anchorman are supposed to be.

I mean this doesn't impact free speech at all; they can still say whatever they want, they just can't call it "news."

while i often think Jon makes cogent insightful points, his interview style (if you can call it that, grates me sometimes).

He often interrupts with a non-sequitur to get a laugh. derailing the argument/train of thought the person he is interviewing is trying to make. He does usually get back on track and says "continue":, but you can see the guest struggle to get back to the point he/she was trying to make.

To quote Joseph Biden:

"... don’t compare me to the Almighty, compare me to the alternative."

Considering the 'journalists' out there today, I feel as if Jon at least gets to the substance a lot more than almost anyone out there.

The networks and cable news just operates on the veneer and periphery. At least IMO.

It is a little too much 'look at me' sometimes. But it isn't the 'sniffing ones own farts' or 'full felatio' mode that is our current level of journalism.
