So then I guess I'll ask, what exactly is Trump going to do or has he proposed that he will do to bring down the price of groceries? Tariffs on imports? Grocery stores will just magically lower their prices because he takes over?

Obviously you deport all the people who pick the fruits and vegetables.

Fuck you.

I go to the grocery store. My wife wouldn’t be caught dead in Costco or HEB. I know the coupon calendar at Costco and remember when a case of Kirkland water was 1.99 and when HEB sparkling water was 2.99 a 12 pack.

But also, I feel sorry for those who don’t get to go shopping by themselves at the grocery store.

I get to 2-3 hours of by myself if I double up on Costco and HEB.

$2 hotdog and Pepsi for lunch. A
Beer while shopping at HEB.

Bonus pts for An accessional hot mom in yoga pants or a braless chick in the refrigerated fruit section at Costco.

There are worse ways to spend your time.

This. I do damn near all the shopping in our household and I fucking love it. My wife picks up some stuff for herself at Whole Foods. My HEB doesn't have beer, which is fine since I roll early on Saturdays or Sundays, but there's typically 6-8 hot women to ogle, and I get a good hour or hour and a half to myself listening to earbuds. I'll never understand guys who hate doing the grocery shopping.

Same. I do almost all of the cooking in our house. My wife usually makes a salad every night for herself with perhaps some chicken I've cooked during the week. I'm on my own so I do my own shopping. Hit Central Market multiple times per week and then she gets things I can't at Tom Thumb (Coke Zero, mainly). I also do the occasional Trader Joe's run and Whole Foods is on the way home from my office downtown on those rare times I go in and need something from WF.

I do most of the shopping trips to HEB because I cook.

My wife does most of the shopping trips to Trader Joe's, because she does NOT cook.

I get the microwavable jasmine rice, dark chocolate peanut butter cups, canola oil and a few other random things from TJ.

Yeah, I dig me some TJs for some things (their prepared curry sauces are one of my "quick dinner" cheat codes, for example), but it's a store made for people who like prepared meals or almost-complete meals.  Oh, and some of their seasonings are damned fine -- Everything but the Bagel, and this stuff is fucking AMAZING:

How's that for a thread tangent?

Fox News watchers are pussies who can't handle that spice.

There is a zero percent chance she will select the steak or fajitas I would.

Will try the seasoning.

I love TJ when we camp every year in California. That spatchcocked chicken is money. All the pre marinated meats are tasty. ( I never buy Heb pre-marinated stuff) It's an enjoyable shopping experience but at home it's 90% Heb for me.

The seasonal Lemon Alfredo Sauce is amazing. I can't buy the peanut butter pretzels because I'll accidentally the whole thing.

“Of seventeen field marshals, ten were sent home during the war and three lost their lives as a result of July 20, 1944 [the plot against Hitler]. Only one field marshal managed to get through the war and keep his position. Of thirty-six full generals eighteen were sent home, and five died as a result of July 20 or were dishonorably discharged. Only three full generals survived the war in their positions.”

- Field Marshal von Manstein, testimony at Nuremberg

So, about those "German generals doing what they were told...."

There are some people in Trump's orbit that must dread having to twist and defend whatever stupid shit Trump said this time. There are others who treat it as a game and fucking love coming up with the most outlandish shit, lying to people's faces, and getting away with it.

I think we all know where the cucks at Fox News fall.

I'm not saying you're wrong, or that von Manstein was wrong.  But certainly he was motivated to protect his general officer peers in his testimony.

Mike Johnson and Vance are standouts. "Gaslighting" isn't even the right word for what they're doing. "Oh what Trump is really talking about here are illegal immigrants."

"No he's specifically saying democrats, and giving examples like Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi. Here, watch seven clips of him spelling out exactly who he's talking about."

"Sorry, not buying it. He's talking about illegal immigrants."

True, but that information is independently verifiable - either they were cashiered or executed, or they weren't. (A couple like von Paulus were captured, true, but Hitler made no bones about what he thought of him for surrendering at Stalingrad rather than eating his last bullet.)

Of those that were sacked or executed, it can be surmised that most were felt by Hitler to have disobeyed at one level or another. Rommel notably hadn't, despite not being much of a supporter, but Trump didn't even know who Rommel was (per Kelly).

Its extremely disturbing that Trump references fucking Nazi generals

He’s not referencing Nazi generals so much as he’s saying he wants to be like Hitler. He doesn’t know shit about history, doesn’t know who any of Hitler’s generals were. He just assumes they were absolutely obedient and loyal and thinks everyone in the military should treat him the same way. Like a king.

When they weren't trying to blow him the fuck up.

And, most damning of all and showing that Trump is an ignorant pussy, he'd never heard of Erwin Rommel.

Trump doesn’t know anything, so trying to parse what he was trying to say is really difficult. LOL at anyone who ventured to name a German general thinking that might help prompt some clarity on the statement.

Closest to the truth is that Trump has ingested lots of pop culture over the years that has led him to believe the Germans were good at being generals and at obeying so he just barfed it up without thinking much more about it.

They learn fast. Stick to the lie, and you'll be fine with your constituency.

The tricky part is deciding to shitcan any shred of integrity or honor you were possessed of if you were ever a possessor of either. I have trouble believing such a huge portion of the people don't care at all about those things. But, while MAGAs lie, my eyes and ears do not.

The criminal organization called the GOP has managed to institutionalize sociopathy.

Dominion never should have settled.  They should have torn down the entire corporation and made them into a laughing stock that only the fringe lunatics (well, I guess that is like 40% of the population) would continue to stand behind.  I don't even care about money.  The best thing that they could have done is forced Fox News to be re-branded as a farcical nonsense network that doesn't deal in truth.  Make them tell their viewers before, during, and after every single program that what they are spewing is Grade A bullshit.  That would have been the best thing for society.

Exactly why they are being told it is okay to vote for Harris without telling your husband.

If polled on why married women might not vote for Harris, "it would make my husband angry" will be a top response, guaranteed.
