Real Americans tip at...McDonald’s.

Come on. I'd take those to be two separate things. McDonald's is one thing. A small restaurant where you're earning tips (and not getting paid minimum wage) is another thing. Let's not sink to their level. We should reserve our outrage for the legitimately outrageous, something that isn't in short supply.

That's how I read it too.  But still,  how out of touch to think this:

Quote

"If you're working at McDonald's or a small little restaurant where you're earning tips ... if you're nice to the people, you make a lot of money."

A lot of money by being nice?

Thanks to your recommendations elsewhere, I've caught the first couple episodes so far.

It’s an amazingly well done production and Crowe is phenomenal. I almost feel a duty to watch it but damn if it doesn’t make my blood boil every episode

When they portray something particularly horrible I take solace in knowing he got fired in disgrace and keeled over dead shortly after.

Roger Ailes is truly Patient Zero for so much of what is happening today.

As someone who waited tables back in the day...the accuracy of this is brutal. Seriously, the absolute worst tables I ever had were the same folks who did big, outwardly obvious prayers and whatnot. Then they’d treat me with disdain, and occasional cruelty. It was jaw-dropping.

If you don't understand that Tucker's talking point is coming from the top of Trump Org then get clued in. You can't whitewash the atrocities that take place in North Korea between the forced labor camps, starvation and outright murder. If the message is that this is ok and how a true leader should run a country by suppressing it's opposition, and Tucker is starting to lay the groundwork on the message, then that should be frightening. We can laugh it off, but this far into the act that is the Trump presidency I'm a little concerned that there is an actual motive behind the comments.

I’m not sure how far they plan to take it but from praising maniacal dictators to inhumanely incarcerating victims fleeing violence and separating them from their children, I’m not sure I want to see what’s next.

This is true, from my experience.  The other horribad group to wait on is a table of black women.  They will ask for substitutions on every plate, run you ragged and completely stiff you on the tip.

Sunday was a good day only because of volume. Not the size of each tip.

In undergrad I waited tables right across 59 from Lakewood Church, and there was a retirement community right across the street.  Sunday lunches were the worst fucking shifts. The only thing that made them remotely tolerable was the private joy I got from telling the old hags who came in after early service that I couldn't serve them alcohol until noon.

Tangent, but we should do away with that rule.

Let's clear things up for this absolutely, incredibly brain-dead bitch.

In NYC a McDonald's employee earns 15 an hour. 40 hours a week is 600 before taxes. If that employee never took time off and worked 52 weeks straight for 40 hours a week they would make 31,200 before taxes. The only way that looks like a lot of money is comparing their income to teachers in Oklahoma.

Oh, agreed, but it was hilarious watching the same horrible old women get angry about that every Sunday morning.

I had that same experience. My thing was, they were also the types that would get the most upset if that law ever came up for debate.

Mom's a widow now. They should date. Lots in common.

it's why, god willing, i'll never stop working. now hopefully, i'll retire and not work for the man, but work doing something personally interesting. but i'll have to work. i think retirement calcifies the brain at an exponential rate than simply aging would.

i've seen what retirement did to my dad and chased his bored self to an early-ish grave. and i've seen what it has done to mom and her worldview. i don't think i could just sit in retirement. whether independent wealth (LOL) and world travel, or doing something interesting to make some modest money but to keep myself busy, i'll have to do something other than rot on a couch.

probably smoke a lot of pot, too, because fuck you that's why.

No need to justify why homie. It's all good. Should be legal nationwide by the time we reach retirement age.

Jesus that Michelle vs. Melania video.

One is an attorney, mother, married to the same man for decades, and does amazing and selfless charity work.

The other is a former soft core porn model, trophy wife, immigrant who overstayed her visa, and whose never done an honest days work in her life. And is probably a little bit racist.

You’d probably get who is who mixed up if you only watched Fox News.

Fox News anchor Leland Vittert claimed that “National polls universally say that the American people do not support impeachment” of President Donald Trump, which would be true if not for the existence of a Fox News poll.

On Saturday morning, we reported on the “Buried Bombshell” in the most recent Fox News poll: that only 45 percent of Americans oppose opening an impeachment inquiry, while 47 percent say an impeachment inquiry should be launched.

As it turns out, that bombshell was so well-buried that even Fox News’ own anchors don’t know about it.

While teeing up an interview with New Jersey Democratic Congressman Jeff Van Drew, Vittert noted that the number of House Democrats who support impeachment has grown to 101.

But as he began to interview Rep. Van Drew — who is not among those Democrats who support impeachment — Vittert said “National polls universally say that the American people do not support impeachment,” and asked “Do you worry, if the Democratic caucus keeps beating the impeachment drum, it puts the majority in seats like yours at risk?”

When a June Fox News poll similarly showed 50 percent support for impeachment versus 47 percent opposition, another Fox News anchor — Heather Childers — misreported the results of that actual poll, telling viewers that “at least half of U.S. Voters do not think President Trump should be impeached” and “A new Fox News poll shows most voters don’t want impeachment.”
