You mean the guy who leads the league in home runs?

You mean the same guy that had a platinum sombrero tonight? Yes, he sucks.

He’s not in Seattle anymore where he can do nothing but crush middling bullpen guys in blowout games.

I thought adding Encarnacion was good and still is. It gives them someone else to play first occasionally so Voit can DH or have the day off and he can still crush a baseball. To go from possibly trotting Bird out there had he not been hurt again to having a Voit/Encarnacion combo is pretty good.

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean or how you arrived at this thought.

Basically trying to say that he’s going to see an overall higher level of pitching quality/intensity with the Yankees than he did in Seattle, and that his numbers will dip accordingly. Now that Voit’s done for a long time, it would be an especially helpful thing if Encarnacion improved his play.

Adding Encarnacion was a rare miss by cashman. The guy is fucking horrible. He couldn’t hit a beachball with a tennis racket.

classic Helo. jesus. he's only the league leader in HR and the most consistent right handed power bat in baseball over the last 7-8 years. but yeah, he sucks, because you've watched him for one week now and he hasn't been awesome. just a dynamite take.

Nah, Helo is right. Encarnacion feasts on shit pitching but age has eroded his ability to hit good pitching. His only chance to hit a pitcher that can locate a fastball and throw a good breaking ball is to guess at a spot and hope he is right.

Now that Encarnacion is playing in meaningful games, he's not going to get to feast on bottom of the barrel relievers in blowout losses. It's like how Stanton will never match his 60 HR season while he's with the Yankees even though he's hitting in a little league ballpark now.

Why?  He's surrounded by big bats now instead of being the only threat in the order like he was in Seattle.
