In that stupid scenario that you just made up that has no correlation to reality, yes, B is better. Obviously it's better, because Joe Sixpack isn't going to be ripped off $2k/year by the health insurance industry.

Or he’s paying a 2k tax to not be associated with the dregs who can’t afford basic shit like healthcare.  Better known as takers.  The can’t get rights, if you will.

You will act like you don’t, but I know you understand people who give a shit about their station in life and try and continually improve it don’t want to be associated with poors. Take a look at where you, BT, live as an example.  You’ve done well, and have moved away from the dregs.  It’s what drives most capitalists.  It’s really not all that hard to understand.

The poors are still going to the clinics and hospitals where the poors live and the rich are still going to the clinics and hospitals where the rich live. It's not the insurance companies that are keeping you away from the poors, it's your choice of provider.

Eh, not really. Right now you can have a concierge for $1500/yr. (additional to your insurance, of course) and avoid all that shit. Pretty popular, to be honest.

And you can still pay a concierge medical service with Medicare For All in place. Have you been reading any of this?

No, because I’m voting for whoever leaves more tax dollars in my pocket. That’s probably going to be the guy not peddling M4A.

Fuck a bunch of waiting in longer lines for care that I already have, and double fuck paying more so the lines can clog up faster.

Right but the overwhelming majority of economists who have spent careers studying healthcare are totally wrong. It's going to print money for everyone.

You must make a small amount of money to be that concerned about having a little bit less of it.

Lol.  I’m not chi-doc but I do ok. I just want to retire sooner.  I’d rather have few extra years on the bay than pay for health care for people who didn’t gaf enough about their station to make sure they had it.

We romanticize the Latin Americans for coming here to find better work for their families  The fact we don’t have people leaving in droves to get it tells me it’s not really an issue.  Itll be an issue when people make life choices over it, not just vote for the first person to give them free shit

People are definitely making life choices around the cost of healthcare. Lots of people. Often they die as a result.

While I appreciate the general concept that it's imperfect that those of us who are financially responsible have to support those who are not, the whole "welfare queens buying groceries with food stamps and loading them into their Escalade" is way overblown. Plenty of people were born into crappy situations and no amount of good decisions will dig them out.

I also don't think poor life and financial choices should be a death sentence. I'm fine with holding people responsible for their financial irresponsibility via the lifestyle they have to live. I don't want them to die.

I wasn’t really going there so much as pointing out our priorities as a society are shit.
I held some pretty low level shitty jobs thru high school. Every single one of them offered health insurance.  So?
Damn. I made $9/hour working at a video game store in high school. No benefits. I was doing it all wrong.

Why should one get a quite literal  free pass because of poor life and financial decisions?

I didn’t make that call, they did.  Im certain there are charities that would be interested in helping pick up where Darwin failed.

If that were the case, poor people wouldn't die on a daily basis because of insufficient health care. The "charities will pick up the slack" is an absolute pipe dream. And I say this as someone who has quite a lot of little l libertarian stances.

So, I’ll ask you a favor. Educate me a bit.  Are the not a pot to piss in type poors not already given Medicaid/Medicare?    The fact that loads of late 20’s types who spent 150k on college and need that midtown apt and a 3 series are skipping (rather expensive) health care  isn’t a concern to me.  If they want to take that risk, then I say go for it.

The truly poor should be taken care of to an extent, but opting out because it’s too expensive to maintain with your lifestyle is bullshit.

I still don’t see why it needs to be government mandated.  As stated up thread (by you I think) why can’t those who want the cheapest of the cheap go with Uncle Sam and those of us who are doing fine stay course?   Oh yeah, because the best doctors and facilities are going to stay with the private for profits     Y’all can have Dr Nick and the govt ward.

I have a white trash cousin who’s baby daddy makes well over 100k (think chemical plant hand) but being not married they paid jack shit for when having their kids.  That’s the shit we need to shut down.

Yeah. In the context of your post, I'm with you 100%. Maybe I misunderstood your stance. For me, the area of concern are those making too much for Medicare, but not enough for good private insurance. Those are the people that skip preventative care because of cost, and die because of it. And that group extends somewhat into middle class, at least by the societal definition (which is largely bullshit).

Yeah I think we are in agreement, for the most part. That group of people need looking out too, but at what cost?

If they want govt healthcare, as they have none they can afford, I have no qualms with it.  But I don’t.  And considering I’ve been able to find and maintain my own (ie: this isn’t an issue for me) why should I lose what I have?  That’s the disconnect between the the people who can afford it, and those who can’t.   I’m being asked to pay more in taxes to receive an inferior service. No thanks

Anyone with common sense knows you mean that you are a closeted Republican that pulls the D lever because you can’t stomach kids in cages.  In this environment it is sadly admirable, but let’s not pretend you wouldnt trade lower taxes for degrading someone’s rights.

Someone has some views that aren't far left: "You are a literal Republican"

Candidate that literally was a registered Republican: "My socialist savior!"

GTFO. You've got nothing.

Omg, Lizzy admits she changed party when she became political!

you have a posting history of pushing for any D candidate to R policies and complaining that they don’t have more centrist policies.

I am sorry you have minorities moving into your round rock suburb neighborhood.

LOL. I have no idea who you are, so I went through a few pages of your posting history.

- Your parents are rich and own a bunch of real estate

- You are shooting to have $20 million for retirement in order to maintain your current lifestyle

- You have negative feelings towards the homeless

- You defend your candidate for defending corporations against asbestos victims

- You live in Hyde Park

- 50% of your posts are stock market day trading and speculating

You are far, far more Republican than me. Sit your silver spoon NIMBY ass down and stop talking to me. I couldn't be less interested in you or anything you have to say.

Nobody is ashamed of people making money. But born-rich, Hyde Park NIMBY Ann Kitchen proteges who openly hold disdain for the homeless and the poor and have no shame about flaunting their privilege are an embarrassing, predictable, and boring stereotype.

BTW, I've never claimed to be a Democrat.

Assumes I was born rich. I paid for my college and lived on food stamps which is why I am so pro-gov support. I wouldn’t be where I am without gov assistance.
