QB KELLEN MOND
Mond is generally considered to be either the best or second best quarterback in the Southeastern Conference this upcoming season. He seemed like that he could be a breakout player in 2019 but the lack of top end speed among his receiving corps, a consistent ground game, and protection issues resulted in him putting up similar numbers to his sophomore season.

The league seems to be desperate to develop quarterbacks which results in more quarterbacks being taken higher in the first round than any other single round of the event. However, the track record of draftees in the NFL beyond the first round is such that just nine were selected in the last six rounds of the 2020 event and four of them went in the seventh round.  Thus, if Mond isn't a first rounder, he probably projects as someone that would go in the middle to late rounds or not get drafted at all.

In order to get drafted, Mond will have to continue to improve all aspects of his game and especially his accuracy and decision making so that he can put up bigger numbers via downfield throws. His durability will be a plus as he's started for over 30 games in his career and doesn't take plays off for any reason. In addition, he will interview well.

Expand

Mond is generally considered the best, or second best QB in the SEC next season. He would have been better in 2019, but for a shitty supporting cast. So, he'll either go in the first round or he wont be drafted at all.

Now let me tell you about how that shitty supporting cast will also get drafted.

Jimbo is 11-9, i.e. 10-10, against non G5/FCS teams at aggy being outscored on average per game. This is why it's hilarious that aggy keeps thinking they are due for a break out season.

Mond best or second best in SEC?

Let's pretend he's the best for arguments sake. Looch or whoever wrote that didn't factor in transfers (Costello will throw for 5k next year.  UGA got a decent transfer). Trask at Florida was better arguably then mond. Mac jones is going to be pretty good.  Kiffin seems to work magic with whoever is his QB. Hog is now running veer and shoot, probably improve QB play. Is Guantanamo returning at Tennessee? Probably not better than mond but it's not a slam dunk. USCe has hilinski, uber prospect. Have no idea who is at Kentucky but they usually suck at qb. LSU breaking in a QB. Might be ok but that's not certain.  Vandy...I don't need to add.

Point being,  Mond is by default, preseason ranked high in SEC but it's going to be pretty entertaining when 8 QBs are better at the end of the season.

First: I would like to just say that the premise for this article is fucking STUPID. "Lets predict how the 2021 draft will go before the 2020 season is played!

Second: Did anyone else notice that like 90-95% of every one of those player writeups made zero mention to exactly where he thought any of these guys would go in the draft? "This guy is going to need to test well." Well, no fucking shit.

Maybe Valai is actually recruiting and going hard after Ibraheem is to why he connected with him over Rushing.

Haven't really heard much on Rushing so far.  Maybe he's the Ron Cooper variety and doesn't like to recruit?  Henson is a dud and Price is useless.  Not sure on new LB coach.

They'll buy some OOS mercanaries in the end that Looch will claim would be top 10 players if they played in Texas.

Rushing is seen as a good recruiter/bagman. Honestly his profile in that regard wasn’t different from Valai’s minus the trainer angle and texas experience.

Yeah, why would all the trainers in Texas not push one of their own, when they can send them to some dude who has never heavily coached or recruited the state until a few months ago.

Ah yes, the always funny 3/5th of a person joke. Definitely something you should try to work in at every opportunity even when it has nothing to do with the conversation. Always triggers those stupid snowflakes who believe treating black people as less than human is wrong.

It gets much worse against ranked teams at the time they played them.

3-7*

Outscored on average 24.5 to 34.8, their wins were a 6 point OT win at home against Kentucky. A 2 point 7 OT officiated disaster at home against LSU. A 3 point win over an Oklahoma State team that was missing their starting QB best offensive weapon in Wallace, and somehow decided this was the game to limit the carries of Hubbard.

In a properly officiated LSU game the average margin of defeat moves to 19.5 to 30.7, yes tell me aggy how you expect to challenge for the West division again?

Don't forget that Kentucky team had a QB that couldn't complete a forward pass.

Oklahoma State also missed 2 FG's in addition to not having those players.  Hubbard was averaging like 8 yards a carry against that big bad SEC West defense, but Gundy went all retard only giving him limited carries.

Quick to ban. No negativity allowed. It ruins the recruiting pitch.

Georiga is still the leader as of about 10 days ago. But surprise surprise, LSU is right there. aTm, less so.

If aTm is going to land Johnson, the schools he prefers are going to have to fill up fast at RB with elite talent, AND aTm is probably going to have to come up with some cash.

NYC has a couple of bluechips every year - plenty of outer borough high schools have football and there's a shitload of people.

Just this year, this kid played for Poly Prep in Brooklyn:

Well, he's the polar opposite of their cube life.  247 (Dohn) trying to fudge his numbers with him listed at 215 on his profile. He was 198 pounds at the opening with 4.62 shuttle. He's going to have to add ~45 pounds minimum and keep that lateral quickness to be effective, even as simply an edge rusher. It's much more likely that as he adds any weight at all his lateral quickness and explosion will go away and he'll be a body. He's reminds me of a far less productive version of Jeremiah Martin, the aggy DE from Cali that had 26 sacks as a SR in high school at around 225 pounds, who is now a 262 pound jag for aggy.

Started out 85th in the country in August 2018 and has steadily fallen to 208th in the country and counting. I’m sure none of those tOSU, LSU, UM offers are committbale. This is classic aggy recruiting playbook under Jimbo. Pay for an overrated 4 star from OOS that all the regional powers have passed on.
