Don’t be surprised if Jimbo, elko, and price circle back to him if he has a good senior season. They never give up on a recruitment, and when they identify someone they want, they usually get them.

And don't forget, aggy was on him first.

Would be a good get for them.

aggy trying to become TE U. Sternberger was a good one and Wydermyer had an excellent season as a true freshman.

Actually, we offered him first, but that won't stop those chucklefucks from saying they were the first.

Arroyo committing Sunday night.

I still wouldn't be surprised if this is A&M but Perroni is hedging big time. Apparently, Miami is a "serious player" per Perroni.

Maybe he's building up drama for a recruiting win but Arroyo's twitter has some Miami flavor to it.

They will still land some studs but their in-state recruiting has gone to complete shit.

It's one thing to supplement your class with out of state recruits but the last 2 cycles nearly 55% of their commits/signees are from outside of Texas. That's way too high for a state as talent rich as Texas.

Lulz looks like Looch is saying it wont be aggy for Arroyo.

Oh that could be a lot of fun since the Aggy 247 guys all put their CB's in, or Looch is just trying to set it up as them making some huge comeback victory which their readers probably feel like they need morale wise..

Absolutely here for this meltdown

And Jordon Thomas too. It will be a double meltdown this weekend. Now, just need Foster and Harmon to commit elsewhere and the plan will be complete.

Add in a Marcus Burris to Texas with this.

Where is all of the faux outrage from Texas High School Football coaches? Sounds just like what Strong did early in his time here. And the high schools coach’s were like women scorned. But nada drop about it from the cornball from Florida.

This is great.  I thought Coley was supposed to be some recruiting whiz and he's going to whiff on Arroyo and King and also throwing out an offer to Juan Davis, which made no impact whatsoever.

Can’t wait to see the attrition rates of Jimbo’s OOS classes.

This here is a good word. Gonna need to work that into my everyday vernacular.

They’re recruiting OOS now more than Strong ever did. TXHSFB coaches are full of shit.

They’ve got themselves stuck in a unique situation.  They are openly paying players.  They openly tell players they do not have to go to class.  Even going back to Jimbos FSU days, his locker rooms aren’t exactly full of culture fits.

There are normally different types of recruitments.  Recruits who have somewhat clean recruitments with parents and coaches involved.  These kids want to go to strong programs that win on the field, but are also disciplined.  These kids won’t consider aggy right off the bat.

Then you gave recruits with elite talent that want a payday.  Aggy will get a foot in the door with these guys.  Here’s the problem... the elite sec teams pay as well and why would any kid with talent choose to go to a perennial loser program over Bama, LSU, UGA, etc.  This is how they end up with random recruits from the east coast or Florida that have never visited that all of the sudden commit.  These are usually guys with some talent with their hands out but don’t have committable offers from the elite schools.  They pick aggy, get their payday.   This is who aggy lands.  These guys are mercenaries that will transfer the first chance they get if they don’t get playing time.  Obviously there are exceptions but this basically Jimbo’s recruiting strategy.

To add some color to this, I’m somewhat baffled by Jimbo’s behavior. He was able to succeed with this strategy at FSU because he received Florida heavily, as he should have. He was in a talent rich state. But here he is in Texas, a talent rich state, and he’s heading to fucking New England for kids. He’s neglecting Texas to a huge fault. It’s baffling.

All you have to do is look at Jimbo's transition class and the out of state recruits he bought at the end of the cycle.

Diallo (transfer)

Strong (transfer)

Beal (entered his name in the portal but I think he decided to stay for the time being)

Foster (likely transfers soon)

Corbin (transfer)

Martin (no real playing time yet)

Jenkins (no real playing time yet)

Sternberger was their only success from that class with high attrition rate.

Florida (Post Meyer) and Miami were stepping on their own dicks during his success there.  UGA still had Richt and while they recruited well, they weren’t on the cheating level they were now.  The ACC was also a joke while he was there.  Much easier to recruit kids and pay kids to stay close to home when you’re winning and the programs around you aren’t.  Plus FSU Atleast has some tradition of winning big unlike aggy.

No way he was going to maintain the same success at aggy.  Texas will always be the flagship school and we will always get a a handful of elite guys even when we are sucking (the top 10 classes this last decade is proof).  He then has ou that’s a perennial CFP contender.  Patterson knows every high school coach and will get a few guys here and there.  Problem for them is they opened the door for LSU, Bama, Auburn, and there rest of the SEC when they left the big 12.  Jimbo can’t compete with this guys selling aggy and 7-8 win seasons.

But yeah, I get your point.  Instead of actually recruiting the plethora of talent in the state, they’re basically taking commitments from anyone who will take their cash.  I also don’t think Jimbo or his staff give a fuck to be honest. They’re getting paid regardless and those guys know they’re not going to supplant Bama or LSU.

Jimbo's been a great recruiter of TEs. It's honestly really weird.

Not wanting to be aggy has never been weird.
