Seriously, seriously pissed at that home run ball.

Only thing keeping this from a full 3 TD lead and shutout
Opposite field juiced ball bullshit by some scrub. Tells you how hard and lucky a no hitter is.

Correa needs to go get his rehab on, same for pressley and peacock.

didnt sound like mchugh was coming back this season

I'm in no hurry for Correa. He can only stay healthy for 1 month at a time so we need to time his comeback to be just at the start of the playoffs.

Poor Seattle.  They led 7-0 after 1.5 innings Thursday night and were then outscored 41-8 over the rest of the weekend and got swept.

It’s like the way they started the season 13-2 and have put up a sterling 45-84 since.

Seattle      1R 1 H 1E

Houston 21R 22H 0E

honest question.....

In the modern era, there must be another MLB game out there that was a bigger ass kicking than this one? Or maybe not?

It’s up there.
Other than another game where an Astros pitcher didn’t throw a single pitch from the stretch, maybe my favorite stat of the day is 17 of Seattle’s 27 outs were via K...and it only took 107 total pitches.

Tucker's slash line is up to .316/.350/.632.  It doesn't mean any more than the guy saying he sucked after he didn't have a hit his first game up this year but it's still nice to see.

I searched on Play Index on Baseball Reference, which goes back to 1908.  Below are the only games were a team's runs scored plus pitchers' strikeouts totaled 35 or more.  Our 38 today tied for second.

Total of 39

5/18/1912 Philadelphia A's scored 24 and struck out 15: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/PHA/PHA191205180.shtml

Total of 38

4/23/1955 White Sox scored 29 and struck out 9: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KC1/KC1195504230.shtml

9/8/2019 Astros scored 21 and struck out 17

Total of 35

8/25/2011 Yankees scored 22 and struck out 13: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA201108250.shtml

7/31/2018 Nationals scored 25 and struck out 10: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/WAS/WAS201807310.shtml

More fun with the Baseball Reference Play Index...our 11 doubles today was only the 8th time since 1908 that a team has had at least 11 doubles and only the 23rd time a team has had at least 10 doubles.

Two of those 23 times occurred in the same game.  On 7/12/1931, the Cardinals set the MLB record for doubles in a game with 13 in the 2nd game of a DH against the Cubs.  The Cubs had 10 doubles and lost, one of four times that a team has had 10 doubles and lost since 1908.  The Cardinals won 17-13 in a game that lasted 2 hours and 44 minutes.

FYI if you want on the waitlist

I signed up the first time, but man these fucking things are gonna be so outrageously priced (even moreso now that there is a fucking waitlist) that I probably won't even do it.
