His agent is going to have fun explaining to teams why they shouldn’t discount their offers by 25% for the 25% of the season that he misses

Yup, except it's more like 1/3...

We are -500 and -550 favorites tonight. The biggest favorite in many years according to sports books. So no doubt we lose, cause baseball.

With Verlander on the mound I'm sure our bats will take the night off.  2-0 win tonight with us sweating out another Osuna close.

If Osuna beans the tying run again, somebody better be checking his bank account

The Astros are -525 with this lineup?

Yeah, that line was posted before the lineup. I never bet against the Astros, but if it was any other team, I'd take the Tigers at +500 or whatever. I think a line like that is ludicrous in any MLB game.

Would it be frowned upon if an avid Astros fan dropped  some money on the Tigers?

Asking for a friend

Point out your friend to me tonight so I can kick him in the nuts !

i'm seeing -525 and the takeback is +440.

ridiculous.

and of course a lefty is pitching, as some excuse to give brantley a night off.

the diaz injury is killing us, for the second time this season.

Wait, so you'd have to bet $525 on the Astros to win $100, is that how those lines work?

yes.

and to put it in perspective, a "big favorite" is typically like -225 to -250.

darvish at home (where the cubs are great) vs san fran is like -255 tonight.

Or you can bet $100 on Detroit to win $425. But don’t tell 3putt because he will kick you in the nuts.

As one who was in attendance last year when JV pitched against the Tigers at home and watched him give up 4 jacks, nope.

Not touching that line

(But what’s sad is that that game was played a month earlier in the season than tonight and the Tigers still had more wins then (41 on July 15) than they do now (37 on August 21)
