Not to be a wet blanket, but we have to win or the Dodgers need to lose for us to have the best record. If we lose and they win, we tie.

Still very cool.

We still have HFA over them so

Altuve and Yuli both need to go 2 for 2 or 2 for 3 to end up at .300 for the year

I am guessing they both will get a couple ABs to see if they can make it and a 3rd if they start 1-for-2.  I'd put them 1 and 2 in the lineup.

Alvarez definitely slumping. He flat out missed that pitch.

He's had a bad couple games, but IIRC like 3 games ago Yordan went 4-4

This is also the most games he's played in his career.  Diaz said awhile back that the hardest transition for Cuban players is how much longer the MLB season is.

He’s the DH for goodness sakes.

The team gets M-Th off so I wonder if they will leave more of the starters in to help Cole get his 20th as well.  Not to mention see if Bregman can do anything to support his mvp claim even though it’s a long shot.

would be great to see springer open it up with a HR (39th) and try for 40.

Yea, slump might be a little exaggeration, but there's definitely a book on him now and he's gotta adjust.

While we’ve gone 4-1 starting with Monday’s game, the team as a whole hasn’t had the best offensive week. A few 4-5 hit games in there.  Good enough to beat some teams who are preparing for their vacations but can’t count on that for the playoffs.

Sometimes I can’t believe this place.  The team just extended it’s record for wins in a season while at the same time securing at least a tie for the best record in the regular season.  HFA throughout the playoffs is secured.  Our ace accomplished career and season milestones while notching his 21st win.  Last night was glorious. The team has met or exceeded every team and individual goal for the regular season.   They are perfectly positioned for another run at the championship.  Fans can not justifiably ask for more.

And still, there are people finding some reason to “show concern” or point out “room for improvement.”  GTFO you miserable SOBs.

Calm down, you’re exaggerating everyone’s comments.

How dare people talk about the teams or an individuals recent performance? Is that against your rules?

Verlander finishes with the 5th best season WHIP ever for a starter.  The only other pitcher to do it after WWI above him on the list is Pedro.  So it's the 2nd best modern WHIP.

If Cole gets the win tonight it will be the first time since 2002 Randy Johnson & Curt Schilling that teammates will have had 20 wins. It will also be the 2nd time in franchise history joining 1999 Mike Hampton and Jose Lima

130 AB is one qualifier, but you are also capped at 45 days on active MLB roster. surely he’s exceeded that between 2018 and 2019.

This is what I wanted to see.
Figured the 130 ABs wasn’t the only kicker

He’s played in 49 games between 2018 and 2019

Watching game 162 on the outside TV, grilling some Slovacek beef sausages, sipping ice cold beers and reflecting on this season.  This has been fun, I cannot wait for the post season and hopefully cool October weather to really set the tone.

Good times. 🍻
