Jesus, half you guys believe this is over already at 3-0.  We have 3 more at bats for crying out loud.  We did win 107 games and these clowns 4-3 on the season.

Reg season baby. Dont matter now. Our bats have been scarce in the post season. If we lose this 6-5 in a back n forth fight that’s fine I’m still confident. But they gotta give us something to feel confident about at the plate. You fight for home field for a reason.

This is what happens when Tampa forced a game 5 and JV took an early start. For everyone talking shit on Greinke, we'd have Urquidy or Miley on the bump tonight if that trade didn't happen. Pitching aside, the bats have been ice cold all postseason.

It's just game 1, and it isn't even over, but if we don't advance the season can be basically summed up in 2 words:  Charlie Morton
I understood the logic of Luhnow letting him go, but in hindsight it may have been the difference.  Not just the perhaps different rotation order facing the Yankees, but the $ for Greinke might have gone to actual bullpen help at the deadline.  We have Harris and maybe Osuna we can rely on.

What? 107 wins without Morton comes down to not having him?

Maybe Morton loses this 1-0 or takes a 0-0 game in extra innings. Doesn't matter who we pitch when we support them with 0 runs.

Three. Three fucking hits over 7 innings against this clown act. Inexcusable.

They hit Ottavino better than Tanaka. Silver lining?  Nobody else is going to throw slow and this is a fastball hitting team.

Yeah, Josh James looking better than Ottavino is definitely a silver lining.

Baseball sucks dick. Hit all season and slump for a couple
Weeks and you’re done.

Bats weren’t doing shit the last 10 days or so of the regular season either. We were playing in-division scrubs so it didn’t matter.

This postseason should seal the deal on the Carlos Correa bon voyage tour. Pay Correa as long he's under control. Then move Bregs to short, and find a third baseman that can hit 20-80. It won't be hard.

Best of luck to Correa/battle axe fiancee/Scott Boras asking the Yankees for $300 million.

I think it's pretty clear now that this series will go 7. Astros will win Games 2-3, 6-7.

Which one of those games can be won with 0 runs?  Maybe Verlander can go 9 scoreless innings and Cole can go 10, but the Yankees are gonna score something in every game.

Lol what evidence do you see so far to come up with that? Let’s just get a W at home, then we can talk about how a series might go.

I tried. Didn’t work for me.

Alcohol has been mildly effective

I’m way past the point of any positive effects it might yield. Hear ya though.

Today would have been really, really nice to grab.   Makes tomorrow a must win and puts a lot of pressure on Tuesday.  Astros have a path to victory even losing tonight.  Yankees had to have this one.  Losing always sucks, but on the spectrum of suckage, tonight isn’t that bad.

Man, other than guys fucking executing, not sure what kind of lineup tweaks Hinch can make for tomorrow.

None.  This is our best lineup.  Leave it alone and tee off on Paxton.  And let JV hold them in check.

This is not time to panic.  We have a great chance to go up 2-1 behind our pair of aces.

Doing a few do it yourself jobs around the house this weekend. Shot an 18 ga. finishing nail through one of my fingers early this morning, (no bone thankfully). That turned out to be the 3rd most painful outcome of the day. So at least I got that going for me. 😛

We have to win both of those games.

last postseason, there was a pretty fucking good team that won 103 games and finished with the 2 seed.  then they swept their division series, and went on the road to win game 1 of the alcs convincingly, and everyone said they were unbeatable.

then they lost 4 straight to the red sox who won the world series.

settle fucking down.
