McCann now 0-10 on the weekend. Batting like .180 on the season or some shit

Yep. In a slump, but he is really all we have for now. Back up has a broken finger and the other is a call back from fall ball. No other options ither than possibly Bertelsen as he had some gear on the other day.

is there a time limit today due to bus, not flight?  clearly 10pm, midnight, or so would be reasonable but anyone know when it is bus distance vs flights which are more clearly defined?

I’m sure the getaway rules are in place even though the visiting team is a 90 minute drive from home.

Remind me what those rules are again?

6.5.6.2 Get-Away Day.  Visiting teams utilizing commercial air transportation assume the responsibility for advising the home team of time constraints associated with such travel and should secure the latest possible departure time on get-away day.  A minimum of five hours will be allowed from the scheduled start of the first game on get-away day and a scheduled commercial flight from an airport in the immediate locale of the home team.  It is the responsibility of the visiting team to notify the home team of its travel itinerary (e.g. bus, commercial flight, charter flight, arrival and departure information, etc.) at least three weeks prior to a scheduled series.  Any changes in the itinerary should be provided in writing immediately.  Teams are encouraged to work together on coordinating get away day game times to allow for favorable air fares for the visiting institution.  Coaches are encouraged to make best efforts to secure flight arrangement to avoid having to start Sunday games before 1:00, and to notify the home team well in advance if air travel arrangements necessitate an early start.

It's fairly important to get this game in and win. We would only be 1 game out of first place in the Big 12 and we've played the toughest schedule so far in the Big 12. We have by far the most favorable schedule remaining.

"airport in the immediate locale of the home team."

That's a very curious rule considering almost no Big XII team is located in a city with a commercial airport in the immediate locale.  Chartered/FBO's, sure.  But not commercial service.  Manhattan, Lawrence, Ames, Stillwater, Waco, and Morgantown are all 50-150 miles from commercially viable airports.  Sunday rules make no sense.

Most important, with the pace of this game and more rain still hitting the area...what's the last possible minute we can finish the 5th inning and book this game

Tech is down 12-9 to Kansas in the top of the 9th.

Tech is going to win the Kansas and K-State series but looks like they might drop a game in both series at home to the bottom feeders in the league. That's going to open the door for the Big 12.

A win here and 5-4 in the Big 12 wouldn't look spectacular but Texas would actually be in good position to challenge for the conference title based on the remaining schedule.

Putting the tarp back down....of course, now on a very soaked field.

Makes me wonder if Baylor really wants to get this one in, down 6-0.

Of course they don’t. Nothing is more clear, even from the announcers. They have been making every statement possible about how it should have not started back up. We need this fucking win.

Yeah. It’s absolutely in Baylor’s best interest for this to end now before we can get the W. After resuming once they can now call it without anybody giving them shit for it

Unless it does not stop raining until tomorrow, we are playing and winning this thing.

Baylor has already used a lot of bullpen arms. They can't have much left in the tank. Down 6-0 with limited arms you can bet they are trying to get this called.

Yesterday at my son’s game, lightning struck a light pole above our dugout. You do not fuck with lightning. But another great Greenspoint take.

Rain? Who gives a fuck about rain?

jfc i swear baseball is so pussy sometimes. Why the fuck do they even play outside then

Even in a REAL MAN'S SPORT like football, passing games usually go to shit it in the rain... Just let the bitch ass pitchers try to run the ball to the catcher!

This shit doesn’t look like it’s going to blow through.  Probably looking at a tough luck cancellation.

Damnit. A 6-0 lead in a critical conference game.
