from a storytelling standpoint, waiting until the final movie to reveal a new character who ends up being Rey's mom is going to fall flat.  But oh well, I'm already invested into the story.  Hope they don't fuck it up GoT style too much....

It's JJ Abrams, and they sound like they are hell-bent on revealing her parents. He's the guy who created the start of a trilogy, and then decided not to tell the next guy how it should play out.

So don't put a single thing past him.

So I’m annoyed with not having abc on my streaming service because of how often the longhorn football games are on them.

My main screen doesn’t have a tv tuner so I watched the LSU game off an antenna in my bedroom, but I’m not down with doing that again tonight or going forward.

I already have a Hulu sub, if I get an espn+ sub now is there a chance i won’t be eligible for the Disney/Hulu/espn bundle later on?  I can’t find any details online about that offer other than articles from August about pricing when it was released.

Netflix’s bandwidth usage is going to drop like a rock on November 12.   Launching on a Tuesday was smart - will give them a few days to prep for Saturday  when everybody’s kids will be glued to it all day

Disney also stated on Twitter that more announcements are forthcoming. I'm planning on doing a full binge month of Mandalorian, Clone Wars, and Rebels.

But we have both versions of Parent Trap!

Apparently about 10 more, including End Game, are being released in December.  Netflix still owns the streaming distribution rights to some of the movies, so those won't make their way to Disney+.

Nah, she's Rey's mom.

Frankly, I'd rather see an Ahsoka series with her and Sabine trying to find Ezra and Thrawn.

I really believe Filoni is saving Ahsoka for something Big.  She's become maybe the most popular character in the EU over the last 10 years(kind of like Harleyquinn did in batman, but maybe even more so).  He's going to tie that story off...he always plans his shit out.

Popular amongst the diehards maybe, but the millions who only watch the movies have no idea who she is. My 13 and 10 year old have never heard of her.

My 7 year-old knows who she is.  Just because you’re a horrible parent who didn’t introduce your kids to the Clone Wars animated series, doesn’t mean the rest of us are.

I know right.  I mean if you don't watch the EU, then it's not for you...but when she finally makes a reappearance it's going to be epic.

My now 7 year old wanted Ahsoka on her birthday cake when she turned 5.  Still one of her favorite characters, although Sabine is the new most recent central female favorite.  She saw a short commercial for The Mandalorian and started writing her own comic book.  Sabine was The Mandalorian, so i think she's going to be a little disappointed if she gets to watch the show.

Doesn't appear to have an app on the LG WebOS, so I am going to either have to get a roku or 4k apple tv damnit.

Keep an eye out for Black Friday sales - Rokus are damned cheap these days.

And if you get a fancy 4K AppleTV, then you're going to get sucked into the Apple Arcade stuff.

The one thing that is nice with the Apple TV vs my rokus is the Apple can connect to my iPhone when I need to type something like a search title or app credentials.

eta:  since I mentioned it, I pulled up the Roku app and I can do the same thing. It’s just not instantaneous like the Apple.

NO AMAZON

As mentioned, streaming devices are the only way you can stream Disney Plus on the devices that it doesn’t support. One of the most popular streaming devices out there, however, is the Amazon Fire TV and the Firestick. And no, Disney Plus won’t support these devices, at least not on its original launch. This decision clearly wasn’t made lightly either, but still it doesn’t seem to make sense.

So if Star Wars isn't my bag I can just skip this right?  I mean my kids would enjoy access to all the Disney movies but they've seen them all already, and we'd still catch new ones in theatre.  I don't really know if I'd get any value unless it could replace Netflix.

I'm sure some Android nerds will come up with a hack so we can sideload a functional version into the fire stick. I guess the one Roku in the house is on the TV the kids use upstairs anyway. But still... What if I want to watch Moana??

You can get the PBS Kids App for free (using free login from your local PBS station) and get a lot of current PBS Kids content.

You can spend $5 on PBS Kids through Amazon Prime, and get a shit-ton of content, including old stuff (Mr. Rogers, Berenstain Bears, etc.).  If you have little kids, I'd honestly stick to PBS Kids through Amazon (or Roku or whoever).

Noggin is all of the Nickelodeon stuff (Paw Patrol, Blaze, Peppa Pig, Bubble Guppies, etc.).

We have Netflix so they have plenty to watch.  This is being hyped as a game changer, so I was trying to figure out what I will be missing.  Outside of the Star Wars stuff which I can live without, it seems to just be access to Disney movies.  That's cool but completely unnecessary for our entertainment needs.

I'm surprised they're not moving all of their Disney channel sitcom reruns there. My kids watch the crap out of some Liv and Maddie, Bunkd, etc.

With the Simpsons getting picked up by Disney, are they doing away with the Springfield thing they had at Universal? I was pitching to my son that I think they need to open an entire "land" at DHS for Springfield complete with a  monorail coaster. Or maybe Otto's wild bus ride.

Speculation is that all of that will eventually shift to Hulu, with Disney+ being the top-shelf stuff.  Hulu has a lot of Disney content now, particularly older stuff.
