The play he spends three minutes talking about at 18 mins is exactly why it’s unacceptable to keep losing out on top tier pass rushers. We have got to get some dudes that can get to the QB

Truth. What I found interesting about his breakdown was that he was really complimentary to our defense, especially to Caleb's reaction to the play. It was a case where the DBs did everything right. But yeah, pass rushers are a must-have. Our ability to get to the QB in the RRS, and our inability to do so in the Big XII Championship, made a huge difference in those games.

IIRC Steve Spurrier thought his offense would take over the NFL also.

Two points. First, Kollmann spends his time breaking down the NFL, so he's well aware of what NFL defenses do and don't do to stop various offensive schemes, and what various offenses do to exploit that. His breakdowns are outstanding. He not only shows you a play that worked, he is able to explain why.

Second, the NFL is already adopting the Air Raid. It's not something brand new. What is new is that KK is the first guy who is 100% committed to Air Raid, who isn't just adding a play or two here, but whose entire offense is based around it.

Put those two together, and you get what he says in the video: He was originally a huge "this can't possibly work in the NFL" skeptic, until he started digging in and learning about how Air Raid works. Once he did that, he realized that it can and will work in the NFL and, to his thesis, that it doesn't matter who the QB is.

He includes Art Bryles as if anything he did had anything to do with the Air Raid.

He says as much -- that Briles' system isn't really Air Raid. He was just trying to show the size of the coaching tree and how influential it has been.
