Mayonnaise is a better dipping sauce for French fries than ketchup

I prefer mustard. Especially the spicy mustard they use to have at Fuddruckers along with some cheese sauce and jalapenos. But just plain mustard is fine. Otherwise I eat my fries plain. Wait ... fries are also great with cream gravy.

Honey mustard is nasty.

This should be unpopular.

I'm in OKC.  So far I've eaten at some Italian lunch place downtown, Flint, Mahogany, Vast, Broadway 10, restaurant at Ambassador hotel, Freddy's custard, dominos, and city eats which is a sandwich shop.

I'm ready for texmex.

Yes, I know ousux.

Yes, I regret that I'm here and not in the great state.

What I don't know is, "where can I get some decent tex-mex, here?"  I searched the enchilada thread and couldn't figure it out.  A crispy taco, some enchiladas and salsa that doesn't use ketchup/catsup as a base.  Top three?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Can't help with TexMex in OKC but hit up The Press and get a fry bread taco which is a Native American take on a puffy taco. It's really good.

Go to Del Rancho and get the Steak Sandwich Supreme. It is the best CFS sandwich on earth. Next time you go get the chili cheeseburger. Pure awesomeness.

For TexMex you have options. You have to look hard as they call TexMex “Mexican” food like I was raised. Also it’s partly marketing as Texas hate is kinda strong. So look at pictures and menus on Yelp.

I’ve eaten at Chelino’s and San Marcos and they were both ok with solid cheese enchiladas and tamales and crispy tacos. As my daughter in law loves it we usually eat at Ted’s Cafe Escondido which I’ve had nice plates of cheese enchiladas at. Solid fajitas. And unlike many in the Tex Mex desert you have Abuelo’s. I’ve lived places I’d kill for an Abuelo’s.

And second on Nic’s for an onion burger. He just doesn’t work very often.

Take a road trip to Okarche for Eischen’s Chicken. It’s awesome.
