Buddhists...I knew it

Buddhists have been terrorizing Muslims in Sri Lanka for a few years now, not unlike in Burma, though not as extensive.  The Sri Lankan government, run mostly by Sinhalese Buddhists since independence - since they're the majority community - has been stirring up trouble with minorities for years, as a way to district the common folk from their kleptocratic tendencies.  That's how the whole civil war with the Tamils got started.  Many people have warned that constant oppression of the Muslims, who are by all accounts a very docile bunch in Sri Lanka, might ultimately radicalize them.

That being said, the logical thing would be for them to hit Buddhist and/or government targets, if that's what this was about.  The fact that they hit mostly Christians and foreigners is odd, but they've said that these attacks were coordinated from outside, so it might not be explicable by communal politics internal to Sri Lanka.

Christians were murdered for being Christians. Do you get it now? Was it that time of the day for you to throw a completely deranged barb at the President when this has nothing to do with him. I bet your response will be full of expletives and nastiness as usual.

Easter worshippers or news agencies not saying it was radical Muslims attacking Christian churches ?

The Sri Lankan government has been suppressing the names of the attackers, not because they love Muslims, but rather because they know that if folks find out it was Muslims while the impact of this is still fresh and people are still upset, there will be immediate reprisals against a whole bunch of innocent people.  That's usually how it goes in South Asia.

Whats so odd about it?

It's the traditional Easter Jihad?

It's odd for the reason I just explained.  Muslims in Sri Lanka haven't traditionally had any major issues with Christians in Sri Lanka.

I know some of you like to think that Muslims are the same everywhere, but they aren't.

Do you get this upset when Muslims are murdered for being Muslim, or do you just fall back on calling them disgusting as per usual?

I hear you. I can see how they're trying to keep a lid on a volatile situation.  I also hope you recognize what the left does in our country with regard to calling a spade a spade.

I'm doubting people don't know it's Muslims at this point.

My only point about the discourse about this in America is that most on the right and many on the left view this all through one framework, i.e. the right wants to condemn all Muslims worldwide and the left wants to make it appear as if it has nothing to do with Islam whatsoever.  It has very little to do with the specifics of this particular attack.

There was a media blackout in Sri Lanka yesterday.  I don't know if it's continued today (people inevitably talk to their family overseas and get news that way if nothing else), but they even tried to suppress the news that it was suicide bombings.

No it's not. It's an issue particularly with the left who refuse to call muslim terror, muslim terror. This latest incident is exhibit 5,244.6. Your, it's all worse on the right schtick his so lame you can't even be honest about what happened Sunday. Why would Hillary C.(and others) make it a point to call out white supremacist terrorist acts yet not call out radical Muslims as the perpetrators Sunday ? (this should be good, I'll get the judges assemble for the gymnastics sure to follow, DD has the  Bulgarian judge in his pocket).

Oh yeah for sure you can't lump all people of the same faith into one basket, but I see that exact thing done here day in and day out, with regard to Christians (if you just look at the posts here). And some here also lump all Muslins into one group, which is stupid as well.

Not sure if that's fake or not^

And Christians do tend to get too butt-hurt over the dumbest shit, particularly when it involves Clinton or Obama...but yeah, seriously...nobody uses the term "Easter Worshippers", because for one thing---the way English is constructed...it makes it sound like the people are worshipping something/someone called Easter.  And they're not.  You don't worship Easter, you celebrate Easter, keep Easter, or maybe make an Easter Pilgrimage.  If this had happened at Christmas, would these two have said some dumb shit like, "attack on tourists and Christmas Worshippers" or "These Pentecost Worshippers"?

Raw dogging pornstars while your wife is pregnant and grabbing women by the pussy = okay with Trumpkins.

Calling people worshiping at Easter services "Easter Worshipers"  = OMG, can you believe the insult?

The problem with Christians is their penchant for selectively ignoring the teachings of Christ. It's amazing.

As an Atheist I don't care one bit. As someone who believes you report the news, and don't manage it I have a huge problem with the whitewashing of the groups responsible for any act.  You can't call out white supremacists then go black on calling out other terror groups by name.. You have no problem with that because it blows your bizarre world narrative to hell.

There we go lumping all Christians into one basket. The trouble with Muslins is they still adhere to a Mohamadistic interpretation of the Quran.

See how that works ?

I’m not a trumpkin you fucking child.

Gary Johnson spoke at UT in 2016 several times throughout one day.  Do you know why?   Because I invited him.

Merely pointing out the convoluted linguistic gymnastics Obama and Clinton went through for no reason.  Also, and, I. Addition to that-trump is an idiot who tweets dumb shit several times a year.  I wish all three were out of public life.

Go back to your cubicle and let the adults talk.

Calling the victims Easter worshippers wouldn’t be accurate or appropriate in your hotel scenario either.

I’ve got a better idea, instead of “Western”, let’s be even more specific...and say “North Atlantic Citizens”.  Wonder what happen if an attack happened on their organization.  They’d probably need a treaty first.  Careful what you wish for, the world has long absorbed religious terrorism.  But the threshold for Western-based terrorism is much lower.

This is the perfect every accusation is a confession thread.  The trump supporters are such fucking delicate flower snowflakes, upset by the term "Easter worshipers."  And apparently more offended that two currently retired politicians, along with Fox News, used that phrase rather than "Christians," than they are about the death of over 200 (mostly brown) people in Sri Lanka.

Obligatory "you dumb fucking cunt," to cover the outrage that you would hint at a double standard that makes it seem Trump's not as bad as HRC or Obama in certain aspects.

Oh yeah,  "you're a dumb fucking cunt for voting Gary Johnson if you did, because that's a vote for Trump!"  applies too ya dumb cunt.

To be fair, I think we can all agree that most of the folks showing up in church on Easter Sunday aren't regulars.  So maybe Easter worshipers (those who show up to worship on Easter, including the regulars) is pretty accurate.

Honest question. Does Hillary Clinton practice any sort of religion? If she doesn't that's fine, it's her life.  I was just wondering if she's an Easter Worshiper, Muslim, Buddhist, Mormon, Hindu, etc. Or is she an agnostic or an atheist?

I don’t have a problem calling them out. It’s just harder to find examples of white Christian terrorists walking into mosques with bombs on their backs.
