people largely have recency bias. Lets check back in on the matter in 4 years and see if Arabs are 100% on team GQP. My guess is the answer will be "fuck no"

This was a completely avoidable genocidal campaign. I don't think they will forget their lost and maimed loved ones, nor the homes that were destroyed, any time soon. We agree that the QCP's policies are worse domestically and abroad, but remember W had a 16 point lead over Gore in 2000 among Muslims (turns out, there's a fair amount of overlap between what used to be the platform of the GOP and the values of a traditional Arab household).

I'll let you figure out how much the Iraq War changed their vote.

I don't think Arabs have ever been a naturally monolithic voting bloc. It was only the perception of one party as clearly better than the other on one key issue that caused Republicans to lose so much ground with Arabs in the 2000s. But now instead of seeing Democrats as a lesser evil (which they are), both parties were seen as equally evil because they presented themselves as equally supportive of Israel, which I believe established a permission structure for Arab voters to return to their pre-W inclinations.

All because Joe Biden refused to actually enforce his red lines.

Biden fucked it up just about every way he possibly could've on Israel.  There's no sugarcoating it. The only real question I've got is to what extent was that a result of how he viewed Israel (based on him being old as fuck and still having a romantic view of the state from when it wasn't just completely fascist) vs how much was craven domestic political fear/calculation. Though it doesn't really matter, my guess is they were both substantial factors. But regardless of the reason, letting himself get dogwalked every fucking day by Bibi for over a year is embarrassing.

not a person here on either side doesn't know he/she would have lost more support than that if he'd announced a cessation of support for Israel. the biggest catch22 of the entire election imo.

Disagree. They would’ve lost significantly more support if they’d gone full Fantana. I think they both played Israel about as well as they could have.

This isn’t why Trump won. Inflation was the biggest reason by far. Followed by immigration and a rejection of leftism. I’m not sure Biden’s Israel stance was a factor at all.

Puts a big smile on my face to see innocent people released back to their families, Israeli or Palestinian. I hope we see more of this and less death across the board. We all get swept up talking about who's to blame and who's evil and whatnot and we often forget that the vast majority of these people on either side are just trying to live their lives and survive.

That doesn't mean that Trump gained the votes, it just means that neither party gives a shit about brown people. Or Jews, or the welfare of anyone in the Middle East whose lives we directly affect with our actions for that matter.

Like, yeah Trump fucking sucks, but Biden was the sitting president until yesterday and demonstrably sat on his hands while tens of thousands died. Do you expect them to be happy about that?

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today released the first set of results from its 2024 exit poll of 1,575 verified American Muslim voters.

The national results show Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein received 53% of the Muslim vote, followed by President-elect Donald Trump with 21% and Vice President Kamala Harris with 20%.

CAIR also released Michigan-specific responses from 502 registered Muslim voters, revealing that Dr. Stein received 59% support, with Trump at 22% and Harris at 14%.

no and they definitely shouldn't have been expected to vote for Biden again.
