So, a microcosm for the season

The real microcosm was that we are a sloppy team that made errors and had mental lapses. Our season ended because of 3 errors against aggy. The pitching was great in that game.

Seems like a lot of extremes on this thread that make people dig in on one side or another (welcome to Surly).

Pierce has issues to deal with internally that are not performance related.  However, Pierce has issues that are performance and trajectory related as well.  These issues can coexist.  At the time there was a lot of whistling past the graveyard when Schloss went to A&M.  He is the real deal.  There is also a correlation between when he came to A&M and when UT's trajectory started downward.  I have mentioned before that lil' Nigel was recruited by both, as were teammates.  It is no surprise at all that the programs are where they are right now.  UT is still a playoff team with some talent.  But A&M redshirted a couple of kids that would have started for UT this year.

So, to sum up: the extreme sides on here are both right and both wrong.  It's a combination of things.

This is why no one takes you seriously.

Why? Because someone on here said they had inside information that Tulo was going to be the next head coach of LB and took Langley with him?

Because 3 seconds on google would have told you that Tulo didn't get the job.

He knows that, it was just another pathetic attempt to demonstrate he's superior to all of us gutter trash. As usual, it failed.

Is that when Tulowitzki is going to take Langley to the LBC?

I believe that happened last week. Our inside the locker room guys posted it on this thread last week. It’s done.

I don’t know much about college baseball coaching situations, but how in the hell could Pierce possibly be retained at this point?  The season ended weeks ago and the AD has been completely silent despite unignorable headlines about the head coach’s status.  If there were even the slightest chance Pierce were going to be allowed to return, CDC would have given some measure of support, even if in a way that he could go back on later.  If CDC announced Pierce is coming back after the CWS ends, everyone (recruits/transfers) will know he is on his way out and that CDC missed on whatever coaches they tried to get, which would be disastrous for Texas’s ability to build a roster for next season or get any measure of positive momentum.  Right?

He's not coming back! There would be zero reason for the silence.

CDC keeps shit close to the vest.  This is not the Perrin/Patterson "blast everything to the media" strategy.  The firing of Pierce ("parting of ways") and the hire of a new coach will happen within days of each other once the ink is signed.

I'd say "delusional" is a little strong, but whatever.  I would love to push those idiots into a bidding war, though.

Same. Make aggy exceed any offer we make to save face. Sky’s the limit. Humiliate their ass.

Absolutely. Just a ridiculous amount of money. And also force aggy's AD to start taking Schloss on long, talky walks around the... livestock arena or whatever. Schloss really enjoyed his three hours walks with CDC, I've read.

Where would we be if Oliver Lock would have been hired instead of Patterson. No Strong. No Shaka. No Pierce. Ugh.

Maybe no CDC if Oliver was worth a shit

What's the joke on why Surl calls Oliver Luck as "Oliver Lock"?

Luck was also a mostly-running-for-his-life Oiler QB.

So by not saying anything isn’t he blasting to the media he is getting rid of Pierce?

If he keeps it close to his chest wouldn’t he be positive about team, this season, next season? By not saying anything isn’t he shouting his negative support for DP?

U right.  Coach Pierce deserves better.  He needs to take his talents elsewhere

What are you talking about?  We're in the middle of the portal.  If Pierce was coming back, CDC would voice support so as to cripple transfer options as little as possible.  This isn't a tough room to read.
