Looks like a picture of an Oscar winner and successful coach (who won the national championship as an offensive coordinator).

Is there some sort of counterpart involving Riley and some D list country singer or something?

 Looks pretty gay to me

You still use dial-up? Nice.  I love deep-dicking my sister but she's with my uncle.

But the second mother was with the seventh son
And they were both out on Highway 61

Riley could've taught him with all his knowledge and experience on how to love the cock and choke in big games. He really learned a lot from Big Game Bob.

I’ve often heard Stoops referred to as “Big Game Bob” as a form of mockery, as well as “chokelahoma” used in the same manner. According to some posters, these descriptions are justified because, more often than not, OU loses the ‘big game’ (obviously the Big 12 title games are not counted as big games). My question for Surly posters is this: Does losing the last game of the season—even if it is in a playoff situation—justify mocking a coach/team? Or is it just hyperbole, because OU is a hated rival?

Big Game Bob was first used in the early 2000’s because of Stoops success in big games.  That was not in jest.

Obviously, that changed as his results detiorated.  It is what it is.

Yes, absolutely. The only truly "big games" are in the post season. In the case of college football, that's bowl games.

Look at any other sport, great players and coaches get called chokers if they don't produce in the post season.

They're 4-8 in BCS/Playoff games since winning a championship in 2000.  No matter how you cut it, Chokelahoma is an appropriate title. As another poster aptly said, they're a great regional team.

Is it a bad sign that 24 hours after claiming Calvin Anderson, then Jets fired their GM?

It's better to be claimed than unclaimed at this point, but #timing...

Wonder if the exit interview went something like this:

"So your plan to topple the perennial favorite in our own division is to wait for them to release players and then immediately grab up those players that weren't good enough for them...??!!  Great plan.  Bye."

His Patriots contract had a decent amount of guaranteed money for UFA, will his new signing have more money other than the weekly stipend?  How does that work?  Was it announced how much he signed for with da Jets?

edit, thought it was more, it was 30k.

When I was in high school, I got fired from a job after less than a week once. I didn't make $30,000 at it, though, so this doesn't hit close to home.

Do they give COLA for practice squad?  I would think the 4 Grand a week goes farther in Houston or Dallas than it does in New Jersey.

Broncos sign three tryout players; Calvin Anderson signs exclusive rights tender

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have signed three of their tryout players from last weekend's rookie minicamp.

Denver signed tackle Cody Conway, quarterback Case Cookus and linebacker Pita Taumoepenu, the team announced Monday.

Tackle Calvin Anderson also officially signed his exclusive rights tender, which will keep him under contract with the Broncos through the 2021 season.

Denver also made a pair of corresponding moves, as the Broncos waived linebacker David Curry and tackle Ryan Pope to remain below the NFL's 90-man roster limit.

Conway is a former 33-game starter at Syracuse who went undrafted in 2019. Though he has yet to appear in a regular-season game, he has spent time on NFL practice squads over the previous two seasons.  Cookus joins Drew Lock, Teddy Bridgewater and Brett Rypien on the team's roster at quarterback. He was undrafted in 2020 and signed with the Giants after posting 105 career touchdown passes at Northern Arizona University.  Taumoepenu, a 2017 sixth-round pick by the 49ers, has appeared in seven career games. He most recently played in a regular-season contest in 2020, when he recorded two tackles in a game for the Falcons.

Anderson will remain with the Broncos after appearing in all 16 games in 2020. He made the first two starts of his career last year, as he manned the left tackle spot against the Panthers and the right tackle spot against the Raiders. He should provide depth for the team again in 2021.

Good on him. Glad he's sticking in the League.
