The young guys are work make fun of me because I keep a set of knee pads in the truck. And won't hesitate to put them on. They are laughing now and making all the jokes but one day they will understand. F 'em.

I felt this in my soul.

Had cataract surgery in right eye on 3/25. No problems, pain less than my monthly AMD med needle in eyeball, so not unhappy there.

Second day now (3/27). No pain at all. The main thing I notice is that the "background" color of life is a brighter and whiter in the new lens eye than in the old (also with a cataract to be removed in three weeks, yellower and not as bright). So, that's good, and expected.

Eye quack said it would be fuzzy for a couple or few days, but damn, it's a hell of a lot fuzzier than before. That, and the fact that colors are in fact not brighter. I don't recall there being much color difference before, but the old eye is definitely "better: color at this point... I get the fuzzy part, but the color thing is kind of bothersome. I mean, looking at the furniture in this room, it's mostl red leather and brown, and the red is noticeably brighter in the still-cataracted eye. I was thinking colors would be brighter, but... maybe it's just that the yellowish lens adds to red more than the clear lens does.

Oh, well... guess I'll see in a few days, uhhhhm literally. If the fuzzy goes away I'll be a happy camper.

Took the kids to see my parents in Taiwan. My 84 YO dad lost another 10 lbs or so since I saw him last. It started with getting covid, then having bad GI issues where he was afraid to leave the house in case he sharted (again). He tried everything for the past year without results, but seems like he's having success with a regular dosing of probiotics and enzymes.

With that said, he's still a trooper. He still has a healthy appetite, and he gets his steps in everyday. There was a day when we did 15,000+ steps together, and he kept up with me for the most part. Other than the shocking weight loss the past year, he looks great for an 84 YO man. We visited some family friends, and even though they were around the same age as my dad, they all looked old AF.

Hopefully I inherited some of the same genes, and not ones that caused my grandparents to die of cancer, high BP, dementia / alzheimers, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc.
