Back home this afternoon - just hoping they got the right meds this time.
Never watched any of the election campaign coverage, nor election night drama - the old ticker doesn’t tolerate any of that clownshow stuff.
But Wednesday I started watching the cable talking heads and apparently all the angst & gloating proved to be too much.
/cr

Oh well, the sawbones palace made a few thousand more and my cardiologist probably paid off his Porsche.

I'm not even old yet, I'm only 58, and I can't watch news or following politics anymore. It just makes my Blood Pressure sky high. It gets worse as I get older; I'm probably going to go out like the exploding head guy from scanners.

Back home again from the 3rd ER overnighter this month.
The clerk & nurses said, “you again?” .
This time they programmed the pacemaker which actually caused part of the runaway heartbeat.
I sweater gawd they’re gonna have my name on that room’s door.
All is good for now.
Am sitting in my new power recliner with two built in cup holders.

Kept waking up during the procedure,  sooo when the did the right eye yesterday,  they either changed the anesthesia or increased the the amount. Even after extended time in recovery,  I blamed out and busted my ass when I got home...fucking sucks

They knocked you out during cataract surgery?

My doc gave me a 15mg Valium and I was awake throughout. It was actually pretty cool.

Once your brain adjusts to your new perfect vision it is amazing.

Sorry you had a bad experience

That seems prudent. I can see how some people might freak out, as its the most intense light show ever.

Did you get the near, far, or variable lenses? I was only 50 so I splurged on the deluxe ones which was pretty much a cost offset for 10 years worth of new prescription glasses.

Now all I need is new knees, shoulders, and teeth and I’ll be good as new.

You all are old fucks.

I tell my dad who is 70. If you thought you had 20-30 years, what would you do with them. Do that and pretend you aren't old and have 20%-30% of your life to live.

It is a long time to do nothing because of age...

After this post, I hope you buy a classic car and it turns into a money pit.

I am currently in Chapel Hill, NC visiting my daughter, SIL, and granddaughter for Thanksgiving. My SIL invited me to play Ultimate Frisbee Wednesday afternoon. I have never played UF before but I consider myself to be a good athlete and am very competitive, so sure, I am all in. I am running around out there like a madman even breaking off covering my own guy to help with another defense. Instinctively I dove for a catch in the end zone for a score. I was fine while I was playing but my body hates me right now. Pride and age are bitter enemies to a man.

I don’t really think this is old man stuff, buts never happened before.

I was play basketball with my son and jumped way up for a rebound. (I’ve been working on my vertical)

I come down and roll my right ankle all the way over.

I climb around on houses and buildings for a living, so this is bad for business.

Last time I thought I'd severely sprained my ankle, I'd actually broke it in two places.  I watched it for 5 days or so and when it didn't get much better, I went to the ortho.  Didn't have a cast, but had to wear a boot for several weeks.

Did this about 10 years ago when I was running in the median, no sidewalk. Took me 6 months to get back to full strength and stability. Probably what Quinn’s ankle looks like.

just a precaution for a week. EKG, echo, stress test and tilt test came back good. Angina looks like, gonna do baby aspirin, a couple of Nitric oxide beneficial supplements, and EECP and knock it out. No drugs. Cardiologist is extremely optimistic says we should be good.

Graduated to octogenarian status today, so we went out for dinner.
Never thought I’d get this far.

Salad, lettuce only, skip the dressing?

Biggest downside is now having to answer in the affirmative whenever the clinic nurses ask if I’ve fallen since the last visit.

You never fall. You get thrown off your horse, pushed off a ledge, hit by a car, jumped in an alley, beat up three guys in a bar fight while defending the waitress. Never fall.

Filet steak, loaded baked spud, Caesar salad.

Damn right.

Not my birthday today, so I only had brisket, potato salad, beans, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, jalapenos, and a nice cabernet. Finna get into a bowl of butter pecan. Watching UNLV getting planted into that god-awful blue field up in Idaho.
