Plumbing woes

So I noticed a musky smell in my bathroom the last couple of days. Nothing overtly peculiar, just wet and musky. It's rained over 8 inches the last 2 days so I didn't pay particular attention to it. So today I decide to add the monthly toilet cleaner tabs and open the bathroom sink counter. Insert Gomer Pyle here: Surprise, surprise, surprise! The drain pipe from the sink has come loose. For at least the last week (I think I looked under there last week) all my shaving, tooth brushing, hand/face washing has been draining into the cabinet. (No pics. It was gross and I'm a poor.) I wet vac'ed the standing stuff on and below the cabinet floor and have had a fan running for 2 days to dry it out. So far it's about 50%. Going to douse everything in Lysol once it's completely dry. Hopefully, I won't have to replace the composite floor.

Plumbing fuck ups and water damage are the nightmares that keep me up at night. Have water detectors around all the shitters, and the major appliances. But I know that its some random sink drain shit like this that is going to get me.

Yeah, this was some wtf stuff. Apparently there was some strain on the pipe or it was loose or something. Never had an issue before. Re seated the gasket and tightened the drain. No leaks, but it will be a regular (at least) weekly inspection now. Guess I should have investigated earlier, but I have carpet in the bathroom (not my 1st choice) and it never got wet. That tends to make me think I caught it early. Like I said, it's getting a Lysol bath or two to make sure all the mold and fungus get kilt.

Douse the flooded area with bleach. First remove the composite floor, its shot... probably will have some mold. Bleach, fan dry, real nice and purdy cleanup. Go to HD buy precut ply, probably something with a finished side.... if you dont have a saw, measure the size you need, have them cut it in 2 pieces so it will fit inside the cabinet. Silicone caulk the gaps.
