Yep.  If you want to find out whether we'll be in a shooting war this weekend, you can literally find out in advance by watching Hannity and Tucker tonight.

Man, ain't that something?

Iran's nuke program has no value either way, but imo i slightly favor Iran owning some.. If they go full nuke or have none, doesn't mean much to the US.  Nukes keep the peace, so why not allow Iran to have them?

I'd sorta be worried they'd sell 'em to others, hypothetically of course, because no one has ever accused Iran of supporting terrorists.

I would not be bothered by those whom Iran supports getting these fantasy nukes in a briefcase.  Technically though, could the recipients know wtf to do?

Iran is simply signaling that if you are going to be Cheeto Dick's bitch and act in accordance with his maximum pressure campaign then you will pay a price.

There is no right thing to do here. There can’t be with trump. We have no credibility no matter what happens, and no one except the extremely dim is going to believe any information provided by the U.S. is actually the truth.

From the AP article:

  Quote

Trump says “Iran is showing their colors” with the seizures. He says “Iran is in big trouble right now” because its economy has been crippled by economic sanctions. He says it would be easy to straighten out the problem, or to make it worse.

Expand

I wonder how Trump interprets all of this.

  • We had a treaty with Iran where everybody got pretty much what they wanted.
  • The US decides that was a bad deal and resumes harsh economic sanctions against Iran.
  • The US announces Iran is plotting action against Americans in Iraq. The US sends a carrier and a B-52 bomber group. The US president says the economic sanctions will bring Iran to heel.
  • Iran shoots down an American drone. Expensive American drone. Iran starts harassing ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
  • US President says we could obliterate Iran if they pick a fight.
  • Iran picks a fight with Great Britain.

All this because Trump wanted to undo Obama's deal and do a Trump deal in its place because deals. Other than that, who benefits from this American policy? What does Trump see in his head?

I just wanted to take away the Trump lens and look at the course of events as American policy. We've always employed a stupid and violent approach to things usually focused on shirt term profits for corporations or cheap theater so the rubes at home can puff out their chests.

We've reached a whole new level of idiocy. It's hard to even find a point to argue about all of this. It's just idiotic.

We are, Texas has a ton of renewable energy projects right now. It's going great. Pretending like the government is going to force innovation by raising taxes is dumb though. Also, lithium is limited and battery powered vehicles aren't exactly 100% clean either. Gonna take some new tech.

Anyway, why is every idiot on Twitter praying for war with Iran? They want to destroy the economy or something?

Saudis are not going to engage anyone other than defenseless Yemeni civilians.  Iran would easily kick their ass.  Seems you don't understand the ME basics.

Don't worry.  Trump has this covered.  He'll reach out to his key Iranian contact and get this whole thing sorted out.  He's a very close, personal friend of the Donald.

Well, Hannity will be pro war and Tucker will be against it like the last go around.   We can only pray for Tucker Carlson to talk Trump out of war with Iran again.

This is the same escalation to distract and retreat to the next distraction move.   Robert Mueller testifies next week.  Can’t imagine why both Putin and Trump want to change the media narrative.

Amazing how the trolls have migrated to this topic from Epstein.

Just making observations...

Saudi will never engage Iran directly in military combat no matter how much $100s of Billions of weaponry is bestowed upon them by the US.  The US will do all the killing.

As much as I hate the Iranian government and the IRGC there is no doubt that they are a formidable foe and would wipe the floor with Saudi Arabia if there was ever a ground war no matter how many fancy US weapons they have

Ike's CIA never should have staged the coup against the democratically elected Mohammad Mosaddegh back in '53. We overthrew a democracy and installed a monarchy. That's supposed to be counter to our values. Iran would probably be a much different country today if we hadn't done that.

About the deployment of 500 American soldiers, I'm reminded of a quote I read years ago.

One of the times Germany was posing a threat to France, the British sided with the French. The British representative asked what Britain could do to help France. "Just send us one soldier, and we will make sure he is killed by the Germans."

That was a terrible move by the CIA with hindsight. I disagree with the notion that there was an inevitability of that coup leading to the Islamic horror show in power now. The US toppled Allende in Chile. Their people didn’t allow them to go down the hellhole Iran is in after Pinochet’s reign. The people of Iran chose Islam, theocracy and backwardness.

Yea....when people are singularly focused on being pissed at “the establishment,” and have a single-minded focus on anger and rage when making political decisions, they can make some REALLY shitty choices of leadership.

That you can’t see the parallels when they happen is pretty amusing.
