Oh neat, now we can't have a carrier anywhere near Iran. I think advancing drone technology along with theses missiles are going to be the death knell for carriers. They're reached the same point battleships got to where they are too valuable to actually be risked in combat. Which means obsolescence is right around the corner.

The whole battlefield is changing very fast. The current administration will be slow to approve let alone lead necessary reassessments and changes because they're all making money off of using big expensive weapons against multitudes of small cheap ones. Iran made a very wise investment by choosing drone warfare production.

I've thought we have too many carrier groups for a long time. They're enormously expensive and really only useful for bullying smaller countries. Against a real power, I don't think they would have lasted more than a week unless they were moved somewhere safe. Then what would they be good for?

Get rid of three groups to start. Use the savings from one to develop new technologies for the new battlefield. Save the savings from the other two.

What makes this funnier is the most pro-Trump and pro-Iran war community in this country are the Persians in LA.

I mean I get this is the limpest dick stupidest war ever but pretty sure he is still on the "they can't have a nuke" (they were not going to have a nuke) and if they did we would be potentially letting them take out Los Angeles, take out San Diego (Dotard nor his followers don't understand that they don't have the ICBMs that would be capable of hitting that hell and gone from Iran target) and so you're just going to have to deal with the high gas prices....for our safety from a capability that didn't exist and wasn't imminently about to exist.

Yeah that is what he meant. That somehow he was saving Los Angeles with this war. So stupid. They used to say something similar about Vietnam right? We had to fight them there so we didn't have to fight them in California from the big Vietnamese invading force or something.

Now I am not military expert but it seems like bad strategy to announce when you intend to attack again. I don't recall FDR ever said "I am sending more troops to Britain, I expect to land in France in June" Or Lincoln to say "I am sending more troops to Mississippi, I expect to hit Vicksburg in May." But maybe I just need my testosterone tested.
