Been raining on and off in Frisco all day long... A nice, soaking mist too when it hasn’t been raining.

This is after the thunderstorm Thursday night dropped over an inch. Cant wait for the green-up!

I had no idea people fished Shoal Creek.

Yep, mostly people with ultralight rigs fishing for sunfish/cichlids/etc. or parents with kids - I've seen more than a few fly-fishing along it as well, including one of these guys:

It's a 10-minute or so walk from where we are at, and it's a fun thing to do in the evenings with my 5 year-old.  Catching a little sunfish is a lot of fun on his little rig.  Alternative is to take him over to the ponds behind Central Market on North Lamar and pray he doesn't snag a turtle.

We've actually caught small bass just south of the bridge on 38th street, although the holes in that area are practically dried up.  You get further downstream and you find some pretty decent areas here and there.  Get close to the lake, and there are some large areas.

Pretty much.  Even if they were big enough, no way in hell I'd eat fish caught in Shoal Creek.  Having walked/ridden along it a lot over the past 5 years, I know how much stuff drains into it, and not just lawn fertilizer or the oil/shit/whatever on the streets.

We are gonna get rain in the next hour, streams coming right at us from the S/SW.  Smack through Austin and 20 miles each side of town.

Hays Co., you've been left out of the party, but you're getting it good next 5-30 minutes.

This one's a'comin.  Enjoy it.

Fucking August 12, in the three hottest average days of the year, and we're getting rain and temps not even out of the 80's yet in the afternoon.

Amazing.  You won't see this too much in the next 15 years.  Enjoy.

Put some tiny bits of red cloth on the hook and let him finish for frogs.

Finally getting another nice steady rain in Hewitt.    Of course I haven’t mowed the yard in 2 weeks and it’s gonna need quite the hacking when the grass finally dries out.

I have the cbsaustin interactive weather map bookmarked. As of few minutes ago it said "weak front passing though, storms not expected to be severe." Now it says "Warning until 6:15pm. Possible winds to 60 mph and hail to 1" in diameter with a storm over Andice tracking SW 10 mph."

I'm guess that is just copy/pasted from NWS outlooks, but it made me laugh.

Saw it getting angrier and angrier from downtown.  Ride home and looking outside now...not a drop and sky is getting clearer by the minute.
