Now, for comparison purposes, I saw Rent Friday night. That one I’d recommend skipping.

Oh, no kidding.  I saw it in NYC and was appalled at how horrible the music was.  It was bad Broadway interpretation of 80's "rock" music.  ("Bad" as in "even worse than one might have imagined".)

Bought tickets for my soon to be 17 and 15 year old daughters for their birthdays.  Dropping them off at Bass and picking them up.  I don't have to go.

Hamilton is freaking awesome. Saw it in Chicago (voluntarily) and seeing it again in Austin next week (again voluntarily). Music is great, staging is great. Far and away the best musical I've ever seen.

For those going and didnt read their emails like me, they have the same clear bag policy as they do for sporting events.

Fuck that for a musical... Or all events in general.  I dont need "Safety Theatre" before I go to the Theatre.

Also, Hamilton was good, but did not match the hype train that preceded it.

Saw it in New York a couple years ago, and again at Bass on Sunday.  Liked it even better the second time.  It's awesome.  I'd go again if the prices weren't so much.

Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda was even in attendance Thursday.

I feel bad for those who don’t appreciate the greatness of this show.  Saw it in Houston last year and will see it again in London in two months.

I'd still rather have driven up to Arlington to see Beltre's number retired, but yeah, it was really damn good.

Plus, there were a lot of hawt girls in dresses there and they sold booze.  Win-win-win.

I get that some people love Broadway and some don't. I for one am a huge fan and we've had season tickets to the touring productions for over 15 years wherever we've lived. Seeing Hamilton in 2 weeks and cannot wait.

My 12 year old’s friend’s mom won two tickets for tonight. So, my daughter was invited to go with her friend. Picked up the tickets at will call and they are front row in the orchestra. So, there’s two middle schoolers there tonight in $1,000 seats.

Saw it. Liked it but didn’t think it was phenomenal like many others did. The second half especially dragged a bit. I would have liked to see it be 20-30 minutes shorter. Pretty creative though.

Seen it twice now. Flew to Chicago to see it in January because the flight and 8th row right side orchestra seats + the airplane ticket were cheaper than the last row of the crappy Dallas theater.  Decided I really wanted to see it again soon since Chicago's showing is closing in Jan.. same with San Fran. So we decided to make the trip up friday for the tulsa show.

2 songs in, I was very disappointed. I really didn't care for the performer playing Aaron Burr.. and wasn't a huge fan of Hamilton either... It made me want to book a flight to Chicago again for one more performance.

Trying to decide if I'm going to drive down to see Les Miserables at the bass in a few weeks. They aren't coming to dfw this year. Next one I will see in dfw looks to be Phantom.

Just saw a Friday evening performance by the Angelica tour in Philadelphia. It was terrific! The ending kind of tailed out anti-climactically, but the first act was something special.

Guessing most of you guys, being in Texas, saw the Philip tour?

Well if you're not @Jive Turkey who has seen the original cast in person, Disney is releasing the show that was recorded with the original cast after they won the Tony Awards. It won't come out till 2021 though.

This is gonna be awesome. I saw the Original Broadway Cast on February 18, 2016. It was a Thursday night. They performed during the Grammy’s on that Monday (Feb. 15), which was the first time most people saw what the show actually looked like.

The night I saw it was phenomenal. The entire OBC performed. No understudies. Just electric.

I’ve seen several different touring casts perform since then but nothing touches the OBC (Puerto Rico was solid, with LMM back as Hamilton, but still not as strong). I’m already getting goosebumps.

I was supposed to be seeing this right about now in Fort Worth at the Bass. Sniff. Won't return till 2022. Excited to see the movie on Friday.
