^^^ 3.   This is Bribery.  By another name, extortion.  This is now a smoking gun.  Trump directly committed bribery.  It is one of two crimes specified in the Constitution that warrants impeachment.

And that's the point.  A president can be impeached for "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."  This is bribery.  We don't need to get into the "high crimes and misdemeanors" quagmire.

Women need to run shit for like the next 100 years and I’m dead serious.  White guy leadership has repeatedly fucked Western Civilization up and we’re not capable of learning from our mistakes.  Bring on the matriarchy.

I've been on the White Men Should Step Aside from running things for at least ten years for quite some time now.

And, no, I don't think we had that great of a run. Western Civ progress was hardly a result of a race. The competition in Europe was driven by other factors. But we did get racial justification for black slavery in the New World and similar benefits from the errant belief of racial superiority. Who is going to civilize the savages if not the British at bayonet point?

Bring on the matriarchy indeed. I'm an upper middle class suburban baby boomer white boy; I happily cede control to those not of my ilk for a substantial amount of time.

I'll defer to our friend Henry Rollins:

If it's a man's world, as they say, then men, your world is a poorly run carnage fest.

Why is it so hard to find the list of the ~30 republican house members who stormed the hearing room?   You’d think they’d want the publicity.  Odd

R's are going to get their transparency alright.

Impeachment inquiry might be public by mid-November: report

BY ZACK BUDRYK - 10/23/19 10:23 PM EDT

House Democrats might make their impeachment inquiry public as early as mid-November, according to The Washington Post.

The committees conducting the inquiry have largely held the hearings in private thus far to prevent witnesses from coordinating testimony, but some Democrats are now pushing to make the hearings public after Republicans — many of them not on the committees — stormed the hearing room Wednesday and delayed the proceedings for several hours.

During the public portion of the inquiry, Democrats hope to question William Taylor, the head of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev, and former Ukraine ambassador Marie Yovanovitch. They have already questioned both in private.

Taylor testified Tuesday that nearly $400 million in military aid was contingent on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announcing investigations into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Several Democrats have also expressed a desire to hear from former national security adviser John Bolton, who was reportedly a vocal opponent of the campaign to pressure Zelensky. Bolton, who resigned last month, told the Post that he would “have my say in due course.”

“It’s going to be the difference between reading a dry transcript and actually hearing the story from the people who were in the room,”

Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, told the Post. “I think the story needs to be told, you know, the story of the abuse of power. ... People like the various ambassadors who have come to testify need to come tell it.”

However, Democrats have also noted that impeachment has historically included a closed-door investigative stage followed by public proceedings.

[...] cont.

-------------------

The House is doing initial closed door hearings as part of a formal impeachment inquiry.  This prevents a premature, potentially unwarranted,  circus spectacle and functions like a grand jury in part to limit hostile witness coordination (though there is evidence that is already happening).  But now that House Dems know that they have on record multiple witnesses across agencies corroborating elaborate attempted bribery by Trump (which already has resulted in an adverse outcome in Ukraine re Russia) House can next take it public and have those same witnesses testify for the world to see as the case for impeachment of Trump for bribery is made to all Americans.

R's have to be happy with the next stage of transparency, right ??  Their staged pizza in the parlor sit-in has paid off royally.

Interesting that trump has lost the white women no college vote.

Also what that poll tells you is that your average woman who dropped out of high school is smarter than a white guy with a college degree.

Men are such dumbasses.

well, there's dozens of photos of them, so it's not like most/many of them can hide

Yes, well some us don’t know the names of a random set of 435 humans.  Was hoping a list of them exists somewhere considering the detail with which we are following this process.

My shits are the product of delicious Texas barbecue and tacos. My Rep doesn’t deserve anything that good, even secondhand.

Perhaps load up on some Bill Miller BBQ for a couple of days as a special GOP tribute?  Or would that just be for Governor Abbott?

Just think, right now Trump is likely orchestrating a whole new criminal conspiracy that will blow up in the media sometime early next year.

It definitely feels quite likely that we know about 10% of the questionable behavior going on.

When marrying and fucking his cousin is not even in the top 5 sleaziest things Trump's personal lawyer has done, well buckle up!

such a good point.

when the ukraine shit broke, it seemed like news was breaking several times per day almost like it was happening live.  but it wasn't.  it was about a 2 month old phone call.  the exhaustive whistleblower process had already been completed.  the ic, schiff's committee, the white house - they all knew about it.  we were the last to find out.

shit that's already happened will likely be coming out in the coming weeks.  season 3 is a roller-coaster.

It may be something along the lines of grid security, etc. In depth article by Wendy Siegelman in the link. Article is too long to quote in its entirity, but it goes into detail the oligarch connection with an electrical battery plant in North Carolina that may have given the Russian owner data about the US electrical energy sector. This is just a small section from the end:

Quote

In March 2018 the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI issued a joint alert on “Russian Government Cyber Activity Targeting Energy and Other Critical Infrastructure Sectors.” The alert contained information on Russian government actions targeting U.S. government entities and organizations in energy, nuclear, water, aviation and other sectors. The alert described cyber activity impacting domain controllers, and file and email servers.

While the U.S. is barely keeping up with cyber activity threats from Russia aimed at energy, infrastructure and the political arena, another vulnerability comes from Russian and foreign nationals and entities making direct investments to buy assets, gain a foothold, and potentially access proprietary information in the U.S. energy sector, technology sector and other areas.

The Alevo battery plant in Concord, North Carolina not only failed, it also displayed financial irregularities — large infusions of financial investment, unexpected losses, an abrupt bankruptcy and assets sold at bargain-basement prices. The new company Innolith was launched with many of the same assets and people on the leadership team. And a new board director was appointed to Innolith who runs Dmitry Rybolovlev’s family holding company. Many questions remain about the purpose of the business, the nature of the financial transactions, about what data Innolith may be collecting, who is funding the company, who are they partnering with, and who is approving financial incentives for their business.

cuomo doing a piece right now showing a bunch of gop mouthpieces shitting on the idea of "anonymous sources" and how it's all hearsay and can't be trusted.  "why don't they just come forward?!?  what are they afraid of??!"

meanwhile, in the white house shitter, trump is tweeting about how these sources are essentially spies committing treason and should be hanged like the old days when we were smart.  hey maybe when the president stops threatening everyone who speaks against him, more people will come forward.  but that's crazy talk.
