Way better than I expected. Numbers should only go down from here, though it may take a couple weeks due to increased travel.

Schedule will be released tonight for the 8-game regular season stretch run. I wonder about sending teams home if they run out of games that would affect the final standings...that would be the true test of how much this is a TV money grab. Will they make the Kings play the Spurs in a completely meaningless game just for television?

Probably an anomaly.

Basketball players for the most part don't go to bars or clubs, do they?

Uh...is a strip club either one of those?

JR Smith has like five of the best in-game dunks of all time.

yes, this, i was shocked when i looked up some of his dunks from earlier in his career. the one when he was a knick and went under the rim and came back around is filthy. minute 1.49

some intriguing lines out there on these early games.  overs especially.  cant imagine a lot of defense will be played.

Heh heh.  If I was an unscrupulous coach looking for any edge you can get (like Belichick), I'd float rumors all over the place that my team overrun with the Covid.

No kidding. Could you imagine getting $15K per day just to be somewhere else?

I do my best to be an annoying jerk, yet nobody so far has come up with so much as a dollar to get rid of me. Fuck it all.

And now it’s introducing another pizza that comes straight from the mind of the Big Baryshnikov himself: the Shaq-a-Roni.

The new Shaq-sized pie is a Papa John’s standard 16-inch extra-large pizza topped with extra cheese and exactly 66 slices of pepperoni, and cut into eight slices. Remember: Shaq is 7′ 1″, weighs 324 pounds, and wears a size 22 shoe. This pie is practically a Bagel Bite to him.

Overwhelming favorite for sure...like Clemson to win ACC odds

No strip clubs for Harden so this will have to do

Why would any with 5 figures disposable income pay for boring porn when you can get the real thing? Cam models are for perverts and poor people.

Think I read a story about Drew Carey falling in love with a cam girl a few years ago

This is making this restarted season even more of a joke than it already was. I will be tuning out, as will millions of other fans who don't want politics rammed down their throats when sports is supposed to be an escape. Good job NBA, you played yourself.

Oh I'm gone, don't worry. And you will see historically low ratings for this "season"

Maybe so. But not because of social justice messaging on uniforms.

Oh it will be for multiple reasons, but dont worry, the social justice bullshit is gonna turn away millions. Nothing like a player making a dunk and then on the back of the shirt it says "BLM" or "I cant breathe" and we get a 1 minute monologue on why the player chose that name. Like gtfo, I watch sports to watch athleticism on display, not to be lectured to or hear about someone's politics. If they go down this road, there will be consequences.

I think you overestimate the number of ppl with sensibilities as delicate as your own. If someone likes NBA basketball, they'll tune in.

Ratings will be historically high, not low. We haven't had real sports in 5 months. C'mon use your brain.

If you are tuning out, you probably wouldn't have watched anyway.

People generally only object to these sorts of messages when they object to the actual message. They couch it as objection to messaging to avoid admitting they are against things like equal rights and social justice. So congrats on your racism.

Ah yes. The ole, if you don't agree with me, then you're a racist, classic shitter move.

No, it's not that I don't agree with you, it's that I'm not a racist. Do you bitch about all the mother's day messages and Christmas bullshit that finds its way into sports broadcasts? Of course you don't because you agree with those totally unrelated messages. You disagree that black lives should matter or that social inequalities should be addressed and thus bitch about athletes promoting a stance on those issues. Great, your prerogative to be a racist. You do you, my man.

Classic tolerant liberal point of view, call everyone a racist and hope it shuts down the discussion. Your insults are worthless now, your game has become all too clear. BLM is a marxist organization that has people calling for destruction of religious statues and has admitted to other radical communist ideals. You are equating that to social justice which is insane, just insane. I support black lives, in fact I support all lives (of course to you in your twisted mind, this is somehow racist), and equality for all. I don't support Black Lives Matter and I dont support this liberal shaming (which you are doing right now) to make me feel as though I am a perpetrator of inequality if I do not tolerate a politically biased message. You are going to be shocked by the amount of people who are going to tune out because they cannot have their opinions heard because of cancel culture idiots like you that think anyone is a racist bigot that doesn't agree with your viewpoint.

I posted something similar to this in the MLB thread. I try to stay in the Sports and Entertainment forums to try and avoid the social and political rage and bickering that is so prevalent in Cloak Room and Daily Texan. I think there are many posters who do the same. Now it has oozed its way Into seemingly every discussion on this board and it’s tiresome and alienating. There are places here for discussions like this. Go there.

I don’t like politics being injected in the 2019-2020 NBA Season thread. I want this to be a place to talk about teams, players and games.
