Stumbled upon this brief interview with Noble Doss and Roosevelt Leaks, who both played for the Longhorns in the 1940s. Thought it was an interesting slice of history.

Doss discusses his 'immortal catch' against Texas A&M in 1940, as well as his dropped touchdown pass against Baylor the following year that cost Texas the national championship.

Hats off to the OP. Apparently he sees people for what they truly are, judged on their character & actions.

He clearly doesn’t see age, race, or even names.

So you are telling me that Rooster did not gain 342 yards against SMU and that Roosevelt did not kick an extra point when he was a waterboy?  Glad to have that clarified.

Uh Roosevelt Leaks came to my elementary school class - in the 1970’s, as a player.

That doesn't add up. History tells us Roosevelt Leaks planted the flag at Iwo Jima and went on to lead us to a national championship later that year.
