The Embraer does have the interior club seating, but nicer interior finish out. I guarantee it doesn’t have that STOL vortex generator.

Nothing like the T-16 Skyhopper I flew back home on Tatooine…

That’s ridiculous. I have it on good authority that they were in a fucking King Air, flying to Waco.

Embraer Phenom 100 (Tail No. N504TX) owned by the State of TX took off for flight from Austin to Houston right around the time Sark posted pics in question.

I think Alexis is pretty much a lock to be gone in the spring window or forcibly medically retired if he wants to finish out his degree. Cain could easily transfer once Mitchell and Neyor get back on the field. But, we could have a legitimate 2 deep with a 4 wide set for the first time in ages.

    X - Mitchell, Cain/Moore

    Slot1 - Worthy, Thompson

    Slot 2 - Whittington, Red

    Z - Neyor, Cook

I am sure they will shuffle guys around in 3 wide sets, but a consistent rotation of Mitchell, Worthy, Neyor*, and Whittington, with some quality snaps for Thompson and Cook seems like a very good thing.

That is a filthy 2 deep. There’s a ton of speed there.

Godammit. Never could tell port from starboard.

Port/left position light is port wine is red. Starboard is green. If you see an aircraft approaching you red on right is wrong! That means collision course.  Red on left green on right you are overtaking them.  You now know the rule! Oh always overtake to the right!

I’m not sure we’ll see a 4-wide set work out like this if we have to take Sanders off the field.  More likely it would be our five wide set.

Maybe they work in some packages with Whittington in the backfield to allow the flexibility of multiple looks while maintaining a plausible run threat.  But that’s approaching Ian Boyd levels of wishcasting.

Athletic: Big 12 football transfer portal 2023: Winners, losers and toss-up teams

    Quote

    Texas

    Total portal additions/departures: 4/15

Notable additions: AD Mitchell, WR (Georgia); Jalen Catalon, SAF (Arkansas); Gavin Holmes, CB (Wake Forest); Ryan Sanborn, P (Stanford)

Notable departures: Junior Angilau, OL; Ovie Oghoufo, LB; Hudson Card, QB

The Longhorns have been selective but impactful in their portal additions. Mitchell will elevate Texas’ passing game and deepen the receiver corps. Getting Holmes, an experienced corner, was a must after multi-year starter D’Shawn Jamison graduated. Catalon, a 2020 first-team All-SEC defender, can prove pivotal if healthy (he missed large chunks of the last two seasons with injuries).

Of the 15 who departed only two — Angilau and Oghoufo — were regular starters, and Texas didn’t even have Angilau in 2022 due to a preseason knee injury. Given the quality of the Longhorns’ past two recruiting classes, Texas’ roster is in solid shape.

    Verdict: Winner

The first transfer portal window has closed and the movement in the new-look Big 12 provided plenty of intrigue. Let’s take a look at who won, who lost and who held steady among the conference’s 14 teams.

(More portal analysis: ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12, SEC East, SEC West, Group of 5)

    Baylor

    Total portal additions/departures: 10/10

Notable additions: Clark Barrington, OL (BYU); Campbell Barrington, OL (BYU); Sawyer Robertson, QB (Mississippi State); Dominic Richardson, RB (Oklahoma State); Ketron Jackson, WR (Arkansas); Jake Roberts, TE (North Texas); Mike Smith, LB (Liberty)

Notable departures: Lorando Johnson, CB; Al Walcott, SAF; Micah Mazzccua, OL; Devin Neal, DB; Kyron Drones, QB; Craig “Sqwirl” Williams, RB

Baylor needed quarterback depth — and competition — for starter Blake Shapen following Drones’ departure. Getting Robertson, a former four-star recruit from Lubbock, Texas, was huge. Clark Barrington, who started 40 games, played for Baylor offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and offensive line coach Eric Mateos when they coached at BYU. Clark Barrington’s brother, Campbell, was a freshman All-American in 2021.

Smith (who led Liberty with 85 tackles), Richardson (who was Oklahoma State’s leading rusher) and Roberts (who had 28 catches for 394 yards and three touchdowns last year at UNT) should all be impact players.

Walcott and Johnson, who went to Arkansas, are among five Bears to leave who started more than half of the 2022 season.

    Verdict: Winner

    USATSI_19241657-scaled-e1674600191862.jp

Dominic Richardson (20) rushed for 1,139 yards and 15 touchdowns in three seasons at Oklahoma State. (Raymond Carlin III / USA Today)

    BYU

    Total portal additions/departures: 9/12

Notable additions: Kedon Slovis, QB (Pitt); Aidan Robbins, RB (UNLV); Paul Maile, OL (Utah); Ian Fitzgerald, OL (Missouri State); Isaiah Bagnah, Edge (Boise State); Jackson Cravens, DL (Boise State)

Notable departures: Gabe Jeudy-Lally, CB; Clark Barrington, OL; Keenan Pili, LB; Logan Fano, Edge; Dallin Holker, TE; Campbell Barrington, OL; Tate Romney, LB

The Cougars saw a ton of talent and production depart up and down the depth chart. Gone are both Barrington brothers and Holker on offense. The defense lost starting cornerback Jeudy-Lally and linebacker Pili to Tennessee, Romney to Arizona State and Fano to rival Utah.

Splash additions Slovis and Robbins should provide a notable offensive boost. BYU also replenished the trenches with Maile and Fitzgerald up front and Bagnah and Cravens on the defensive side from Boise State, but all of them have large vacancies to fill. It wasn’t a completely lopsided portal experience, but the losses stand out.

    Verdict: Loser

    Cincinnati

    Total portal additions/departures: 14/16

Notable additions: Emory Jones, QB (ASU); Daniel Grzesiak, Edge (Utah State); Donovan Ollie, WR (Washington State); Jordan Young, DB (Florida); Luke Kandra, OL (Louisville); Trevor Radosevich, OL (Penn)

Notable departures: Jake Renfro, OL; Ja’Quan Sheppard, CB; Jadon Thompson, WR; Joe Huber, OL; JQ Hardaway, CB; Nick Mardner, WR

In addition to being one of the four Big 12 newbies, Cincy is also the only program in the conference that endured a head coaching change this offseason. Luke Fickell leaving for Wisconsin caused a considerable roster shakeup, including a few early NFL Draft declarations and 16 players entering the portal. A handful of expected starters departed, including Renfro and Huber on the offensive line, Sheppard and Hardaway in the secondary and a rash of receivers.

New head coach Scott Satterfield has done well on a shortened timeline to restock the coffers. Grzesiak and Ollie offer a pair of ready-made starters on either side of the ball, and Kandra and Radosevich should have immediate opportunities on the offensive line. The wild card is Emory Jones, the former top-100 recruit and Florida quarterback who struggled in his lone season at Arizona State in 2022 but was brought in as the Year 1 starter for Satterfield.

    Verdict: Toss-up

    Houston

    Total portal additions/departures: 9/16

Notable additions: David Ugwoegbu, LB (Oklahoma); Donovan Smith, QB (Texas Tech); Adari Haulcy, SAF (New Mexico); Stephon Johnson, WR (Oklahoma State); Isaiah Hamilton, CB (Texas Southern); Joshua Cobbs, WR (Wyoming); Ish Harris, LB (Texas A&M)

Notable departures: Mannie Nunnery, LB; Derek Bowman, OL; Demarcus Griffin-Taylor, CB; Cody Jackson, WR; Ugonna Nnanna, OL; Joshua Atkins, DL

Smith, who started eight games for Texas Tech in the past two years, likely will be UH’s 2023 starting quarterback. Haulcy, a freshman All-American, and Hamilton, a first-team All-SWAC pick, should immediately bolster the secondary. Johnson and Cobbs solidify an already talented receiving corps. Ugwoegbu, who committed on Tuesday, is a huge addition after finishing with 109 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss last year at OU.

Nunnery, who went to Florida, is the most notable loss; he started eight games and was a valuable rotational player and special teams contributor. No other player UH lost started a game in 2022.

    Verdict: Winner

    Iowa State

    Total portal additions/departures: 3/8

Notable additions: Zachary Lovett, LB (Missouri); Arlen Harris Jr, RB (Stanford); Jayden Higgins, WR (EKU)

Notable departures: Deon Silas, RB; Mason Chambers, SAF; Sean Shaw Jr., WR

After a 4-8 season and last place Big 12 finish and firing their offensive coordinator and strength coach, the Cyclones have added just three players via the transfer portal. Fortunately for Iowa State, one of them is Harris, a former four-star, top-350 recruit in the 2022 class. He will bolster a rushing attack that only managed a ghastly 3.3 yards per carry last season.

The Cyclones lost a few contributors via the portal, although none were major, and they do get quarterback Hunter Dekkers back for a second season as a starter. But for a team that struggled so much offensively in 2022, it would have been nice to add some more ready-made reinforcements.

    Verdict: Loser

    Kansas

    Total portal additions/departures: 11/6

Notable additions: Patrick Joyner, Edge (Utah State); Damarius McGhee, CB (LSU); Spencer Lovell, OL (Cal); Logan Brown, OL (Wisconsin); Devin Phillips, DL (Colorado St); Gage Keys, DL (Minnesota)

Notable departures: Eriq Gilyard, LB; Ky Thomas, RB

Kansas, coming off its best season in a decade-plus, still managed to fortify the trenches on offense and defense. Lovell and Brown add a pair of potential offensive line starters; same with Joyner on defense. McGhee, a former four-star from LSU, adds talent to the secondary.

The Jayhawks have head coach Lance Leipold and starting quarterback Jalon Daniels returning, and, with their portal haul, they added promise for 2023.

    Verdict: Winner

    Kansas State

    Total portal additions/departures: 4/9

Notable additions: Jevon Banks, DL (Mississippi State); Treshaun Ward, RB (Florida State); Keagan Johnson, WR (Iowa); Marques Sigle, CB (North Dakota State)

Notable departures: TJ Smith, DB; Krew Jackson, LB

The reigning Big 12 champions have only reeled in four players through the portal thus far, but they’ve made the most of it, most notably with Ward. The Florida State transfer had 628 yards (6.6 yards) and seven touchdowns in 2022 and will help offset the loss of Deuce Vaughn to the NFL. The Wildcats have also provided refuge for Keagan Johnson, one of the numerous Iowa receivers seeking a competent offense, and haven’t surrendered any significant contributors.

    Verdict: Winner

    Oklahoma

    Total portal additions/departures: 13/16

Notable additions: Walter Rouse, T (Stanford); Caleb Shaffer, OL (Miami, Ohio); Rondell Bothroyd, Edge (Wake Forest); Reggie Pearson, SAF (Texas Tech); Dasan McCullough, LB (Indiana); Austin Stogner, TE (South Carolina); Trace Ford, DE (Oklahoma State)

Notable departures: David Ugwoegbu, LB; Theo Wease, WR; Nick Evers, QB; Josh Ellison, DL

The Sooners brought in a ton of experience, starting with Rouse, who has more than 2,500 career snaps according to Pro Football Focus. Shaffer started 26 games in his past two seasons and Bothroyd and Pearson are fifth-year seniors. Plus, the Sooners got Stogner — who transferred from OU to South Carolina before 2022 — back.

Ugwoegbu was the most impactful departure. He was a senior and the team’s second-leading tackler last year.

    Verdict: Winner

    Oklahoma State

    Total portal additions/departures: 12/16

Notable additions: Justin Wright, LB (Tulsa); De’Zhaun Stribling, WR (Washington State); Dalton Cooper, OL (Texas State); Anthony Goodlow, DE (Tulsa); Kenneth Harris, CB (Arkansas State); Elijah Collins, RB (Michigan State); Arland Bruce IV, WR (Iowa); Alan Bowman, QB (Michigan); Leon Johnson III, WR (George Fox)

Notable departures: Spencer Sanders, QB; Bryson Green, WR; John Paul Richardson, WR; Mason Cobb, LB; Jabbar Muhammad, CB; Dominic Richardson, RB; Thomas Harper, CB; Trace Ford, DE

The Cowboys lost seven players who started more than half of 2022. Sanders was a four-year starter, three of the departing receivers combined for 102 catches, and Cobb was an All-Big 12 selection. Oklahoma State lost a combined 72 starts from its 2022 team to the portal.

While difficult to replenish that many losses, OSU has restocked respectably. Cooper was a three-year starter and All-Sun Belt pick and Goodlow and Wright are quality, experienced defenders. Collins was Michigan State’s second-leading rusher in 2022 and the Pokes replenished the receiving corps with Stribling (who led Wazzu in receiving yards last year), Bruce and Johnson, a Division III All-American.

    Verdict: Loser

    TCU

    Total portal additions/departures: 7/7

Notable additions: JoJo Earle, WR (Alabama); Avery Helm, CB (Florida); Jack Bech, WR (LSU); John Paul Richardson, WR (Oklahoma State); Tommy Brockermeyer, OL (Alabama); Trey Sanders, RB (Alabama)

Notable departures: Kee’yon Stewart, CB; D’Arco Perkins-McAllister, S; Sam Jackson, QB

The Horned Frogs stocked up on former SEC players. Earle and Brockermeyer are both Dallas-Fort Worth area products who are former top-50 national recruits, fitting into TCU’s bounce-back portal strategy. Helm and Richardson, who both played significant snaps the past two seasons, are also native Texans and should provide immediate help on the perimeter.

Coming off a College Football Playoff appearance, TCU hasn’t lost any starters to the portal. Most of the personnel losses thus far are via graduation or the NFL Draft. Jackson heading to Cal, where Jake Spavital is now the offensive coordinator, will be intriguing.

    Verdict: Winner

    Texas Tech

    Total portal additions/departures: 5/10

Notable additions: Drae McCray, WR (Austin Peay); Rusty Staats, OL (Western Kentucky); Quincy Ledet, DL (Louisiana-Monroe); CJ Baskerville, SAF (San Diego State); Steve Linton, DE (Syracuse)

Notable departures: Donovan Smith, QB; Reggie Pearson, SAF; Trey Cleveland, WR; Philip Blidi, DL; Kobee Minor, SAF

Texas Tech took a deliberate portal approach this cycle after adding more than a dozen transfers last year. Staats, a two-year starter at center, played for Tech OC Zach Kittley and OL coach Stephen Hamby when they were at WKU in 2021. The speedy McCray led the Atlantic Sun with 76 catches and 1,021 yards last season.

Smith started eight games in two seasons as Texas Tech’s backup before departing, and Pearson started 20 games in two seasons in the secondary. Cleveland, Blidi and Minor were all solid rotational players for the Red Raiders.

    Verdict: Toss-up

    UCF

    Total portal additions/departures: 10/12

Notable additions: Trent Whittemore, WR (Florida); Brian George, CB (Texas A&M); Amari Kight, OL (Alabama); Jireh Wilson, SAF (ECU); Chauncey Magwood, WR (UK); Fred Davis II, CB (Clemson)

Notable departures: Davonte Brown, DB; Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste, LB; Ryan O’Keefe, WR; Matt Lee, OL; Mikey Keene, QB

The Knights had high-profile departures, including O’Keefe, the team’s leading receiver, and Lee, an all-conference lineman. Even Keene, who isn’t a fit at quarterback for Gus Malzahn’s run-heavy system, had really solid numbers when starter John Rhys Plumlee was out with injuries. But UCF has also been deliberate and aggressive in the portal, bringing in a nice mix of power-conference pedigree and proven Group of 5 contributors to plug those holes, with receiver, offensive line and secondary the main benefactors.

Kight and George are former four-star, SEC recruits, Davis II and Wilson have starting experience in the secondary, and Whittemore and Magwood will have opportunities to fill in at receiver. The necessary pieces and potential were added. We’ll see if they can replace the production that was lost.

    Verdict: Toss-up

    West Virginia

    Total portal additions/departures: 8/16

Notable additions: Devin Carter, WR (NC State); Kole Tayler, TE (LSU); Montre Miller, CB (Kent State), Keyshawn Cobb, SAF (Buffalo); Ja’Shaun Poke, WR (Kent State)

Notable departures: JT Daniels, QB; Taijh Alston, DL; Kaden Prather, WR; Jordan Jefferson, DL; Mumu Bin-Wahad, CB; Reese Smith, WR; Corbin Page, TE

A few big names are gone, including Daniels, who had a lukewarm 2022. Head coach Neal Brown opted not to replace him in the portal and will have Garrett Greene and redshirt freshman Nicco Marchiol battle it out. It’s a bold move for a coach who is fresh off (or still on?) the hot seat.

The Mountaineers did add promising offensive weapons in Carter and Taylor, who should help WVU’s future QB. A pair of former MAC defensive backs — Miller and Cobb — hopefully will help shore up a defense that allowed 33 points per game and 8.2 yards per passing attempt in 2022.

    Verdict: Toss-up
